MOEID TRAVEL
Reception Experience:
Upon arrival, I was offered an upgrade for €150, which I declined. Consequently, I was given a room with a poor view. When I complained the next day, I was informed that no other rooms were available. On the day of departure, when I sought assistance due to a delayed bus, the receptionist was dismissive and unhelpful.
During my stay, I sought assistance from a TripAdvisor representative, who was accommodating. However, when I did so, a member of the hotel staff expressed displeasure, claiming I should have approached them instead. Despite my explanation of the receptionist’s unresponsiveness, I was met with dissatisfaction.
Upon checkout, I requested assistance with transferring my luggage, which was completed around 11:30. However, there was a discrepancy during lunchtime when a representative from Jet2 inquired about my checkout status, despite it having been completed.
Furthermore, an unsettling incident occurred at 7 p.m. when I was confronted with a photo of a bedsheet allegedly damaged by fire in my room. Despite my vehement denial and assurance of innocence, I was made to feel guilty and embarrassed.
Room Cleaning Service:
The cleanliness of the room left much to be desired. The floors were notably dirty, and there were visible hairs and debris throughout. Additionally, the cleaning service appeared to be motivated solely by the expectation of tips.
Restaurant Experience:
I observed a concerning lack of respect towards guests of color in the restaurant. Despite multiple requests, the staff overlooked us, prioritizing affluent patrons for services such as high chairs and preferred seating arrangements. It became evident that favorable treatment was contingent upon gratuities, exemplified by the use of a black hat to reserve tables for anticipated tippers.
Rude and all the time look for tip not tips no service
**Noise Disturbance:**
Throughout my stay, I encountered significant noise disturbances originating from neighboring rooms and the rooftop area. Despite raising my concerns with hotel staff, I was met with dismissive responses, attributing the disturbance to normal check-in and check-out activities. However, the noise persisted, consistently disrupting our sleep and causing both myself and my companion considerable inconvenience. This recurring issue occurred almost every night, detracting significantly from the overall quality of our stay.
Hammad Rathore
It was a good experience. Every thing was well organised. It was my first experience for such holiday but it was amazing. Breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet were great. Only thing i didn't enjoy the Bazars nearby were trying to rip everyone.
Carnival Hicks
Room - Family Room, 1 queen size bed, 2 single beds
- we were placed on the ground floor next to the entrance of our block. It was very echoey and noisy with people coming and going between until the early hours.
- There was no relax/chillout zone apart from the balcony or bedrooms
- Clean and tidy, Our cleaning lady didn't clean to the full standard and when we tipped her she started cleaning thoroughly again
-Beds were comfortable
Food/Drinks
-We arrived late at night and the only food available was burgerland it was ok. It had pasta, burgers, chips, fruit juices and some fruit as well.
- The main restaurant was on and off, some nights were really good. we had roast chicken one night and good ice cream. But there were the same basics there everyday for example chips, pizza, bread, pasta and sauces and some local dishes. It did get boring every night so one night we went to London Restaurant and it was superb and they also showed sporting events and the staff were wonderful.
- The snack bar near the slides pool had the basics such as pizza, chips etc and also had waffles in the afternoon.
- For lunch we mostly went over to the Island to the buffet there which had more of the food we liked, with chicken drumsticks, doner kebab and jacket potato which wasn't available in the hotel restaurant for lunch. They also did waffles in the afternoon.
- We never tried the Al A Carte restaurant as you had to get there early in the morning and could only book one day in advance so we never bothered.
- The drink system was confusing. In the hotel bars there was a list of drinks that was included on each bar. Vodka, Rum, soft drinks, gin and some others. But in the island bars except the amphitheatres bar you could only have cider, beer and soft drinks. In The amphitheatres bar (Jet 2 Only) it was the same drinks as the hotel bar. It did have a long que so be prepared to wait.
- They also served the drinks in very small cups, so bring your own and get them to fill it up which was what other guests were doing.
Entertainment
- We only used the Island amphitheatre for our entertainment as it was a lot better. We had a magician one night, a dance troupe, and an audience gameshow another.
- The hotel entertainment was ok but lacked seating and only stayed for 20 minutes.
Location
- Lots of shops around, selling your knockoff clothes and various tourist items. The market on Sunday was selling more of the same things.
- The Hotel is about 1 hour and 30 minutes away from the hotel, Be advised that transfers do stop at a petrol station/shop halfway. Our private transfer did this and also the Jet 2 transfer did it.
- If you like your knock off clothes, cheap tat and lots of british themed restaurants then this is your place. If you want a more authentic Turkish holiday don't come here and it's very commercialised
- And also at the Island/ Main hotel there are lots of addons. Various stalls/ games/ trips/ food stands so not everything is included in your stay.
Pools
- The main slide pool in the hotel was brilliant and were went there most days.
- The floors around the pools are VERY slippery, they have put down blue mats but they hurt your feet so bring some shoes to wear.
- There were sunbeds available but if there isn't, there is an old man that can fetch you one and make sure to tip him.
- BE AWARE there was also a member of staff going around with coins for exchange for a 10 euro note. We were warned that the coins were fake so just be cautious.
- There was security around at entrances and exits of hotels some with dogs, if you see them when coming back to Eftalia aqua through the tunnel show them your wristband and they will leave you alone.
