Viva sunrise was great, the road side approach gives a wrong impression as once at the main entrance the quality of the hotel is more obvious. The reception area is very large and spacious and like the rest of the hotel is very clean. Checking in was fast and hassle free and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a two bed apartment on the 1st floor and although a very long corridor away from the reception it was easy to locate. Entry to the rooms is enabled by a wrist band issued at check in, this wrist band also enabled you to get food, drinks etc and access to certain fridges, areas etc dependent on the board level of your booking. The room itself was very spacious, with a separate double bedroom, separate bunk bedroom and shower room. The main bedroom and living area had access to a balcony which had a family friendly guard rail and pull out drying rack for wet clothes etc. Everything was very clean in the room, only the flooring looking slightly tired in places. We stayed early April and the first few nights were quite cool but there was plenty of extra bedding in the two wardrobes. There was also sleeping space in the living area which was made up ready to be pulled out. We didn't use it but there was also a small kitchen area and dining table. All of the outside areas were very well maintained and again immaculately clean. Food was good from both the sports bar and buffet restaurant and service was friendly and welcoming. All staff seemed happy and friendly which made for a lovely atmosphere and holiday. The entertainment staff were excellent, they were particularly lovely with the children and went above and beyond in my opinion. My six year old son actually stated that one of the fun squad entertainment staff was his favourite thing of the entire holiday. There were three pools and a small splash pool for general use, only one being heated. Again all were very clean and well maintained. The only thing I found strange was the lack of toilets near the sports bar, with the closest being in the far side of reception. Walk to the beautiful beach was around 7-10mins depending on your pace. Overall great and I'm already looking to re-booking.

Recurring visitors to the Viva and just returned from an 11 night stay, maybe it’s not a great thing having a basis for comparison!
Starting with the staff, as always, as with previous visits, the staff were excellent. In the restaurant and sports bar, Tony, Jonathan, Valverde, Maria, Jesus, Davide, Willy and Maria in the drink truck and others. In particular special shout outs to Tony and Davide, two of the nicest people you’ll ever have the pleasure of meeting and it does the heart good chatting to people like them.
Clean and spotless as always and air conditioning perfect.
All inclusive, one thing that set the Viva apart for us was the all-inclusive, whilst it was still good this year, it’s definitely gone downhill in terms of taste. Not a great choice of snacks between meal times (if any at all?) and the choice of ice creams for the kids has been significantly reduced.
The entertainment team, whilst all really nice and friendly don’t appear to be as involved as previous years, that could be down to my kids being at awkward ages.
The pool is most definitely a downgrade on the old lagoon style pool. For starters it’s way too shallow, the smaller pool up the top end is also way too shallow so there’s literally no deep part. The bouncy inflatable whilst a hit with the kids, due to the small size of the pool it takes up way too much area. There are also these large white plastic things raised up from the floor of the pool which are easy to walk into, another guest referred to them as pool land mines which was funny. A lot of justifiable complaints about the lack of elderly/disabled access, whilst this didn’t affect us, I can see the point, the old pool had good access for elderly or disabled guests, the new one doesn’t have any.
The selection club, very nice and worth the room upgrade, although it was confusing.
We still had a great time, the kids had a great time and happy kids equals a happy holiday for us but the two big changes, the pool and the revamp of the restaurant are to add the sports bar are definitely for the worse and they need to keep an eye on the food quality.

Just came back for 7 nights , this place is ideally located with any amount of things for kids . Splash park is great , always enough sun lounges. Hotel rooms are very large with great balconies. Highly recommend with or without children.
