We had a great holiday at Villa Petra. The hotel is pleasant and very clean – housekeeping does an excellent job keeping everything spotless, and hygiene is well taken care of. The rooms are nicely furnished, and the kitchen has all the essentials you need. The only downside is that it can be a bit noisy at times.
Overall, the facilities are good and as expected, but with a few points for improvement: the drink prices at the pool are unnecessarily high (for example, €4.50 for apple juice & €7,50 for a basic smoothie) which makes you walk for 40 meters to the nearby mini market just outside the hotel, the animation could be more varied and engaging for guests, and the breakfast could use more variety.
All in all, a fine place to spend your holiday, conveniently located just behind the Strip.

A good holiday but only because of the family we travelled with. This is NOT a family hotel. And absolutely not worth the money. Lots of noise. Stag and Hen groups. Very much in need of refurbishment. Some wonderful staff in the pool, green bar. One very rude member of staff in the Stone Restaurant. In fact, our group of 6 walked out because of his attitude. Older guy. Does the business no favours at all.
It's our fault to book at the top end of The Strip. Should have researched better.
Overall, I don't recommend it if you are a family. Or a couple wanting a relaxing break.

Just came back from a week's stay and this has to be one of the nicest places we have stayed.
All the staff from the cleaners to the reception team were so friendly and helpful.
We had a two bedroom apartment and were self catering but did eat in the restaurant once which was lovely.
We had no issues getting loungers by the pool at anytime of the day, but that could be due to the time of year and my son loved the multi purpose pitch.

We stayed 4 nights over the Easter holidays. The hotel is just great. It's got everything you need and more - reasonably priced restaurants and bars, indoor and outdoor pools, gym, play rooms, exceptional well looked after grounds, playing areas for kids, etc.
The location is great. It's near all the local must-see places, but located in a nice quiet neighbourhood.
We stayed in a spacious room 301 with a garden view. We liked everything about it, especially the view from a balcony in the evenings. The members of staff are brilliant, a big thank you to a reception team that made our stay enjoyable. The only suggestion would be to have a safe box big enough to accommodate laptops 14 inches at least as currently you can only use it for 13 inches max.
We will definitely come back!
Tip: use Uber taxi for any local travel - the prices are very cheap. For example: around 4 euros to get to the Old town or to the beach from Vila Petra.

We stayed here for 10 days in May, 2025, and loved every minute of it. The room was self catering, with everything you could need. It would be cleaned every day if you want, and it does say if you don't need it to be then just leave a do not disturb sign on the door, but we didn't have one so the poor cleaner would have to knock every day to see if we were still in. The beds were very comfy, but had a tendency to move easily so you'd end up with a gap between the two single mattresses every morning. We were directly above the front door so sitting on the balcony could be a bit noisy, but that's not their fault! The facilities were good. 3 excellent restaurants and an in-house takeaway service until 10pm every night. They offer theme nights in the main restaurant like steak night (half price steak), Portuguese night and Mexican night. There are 3 bars too. One next-door to the indoor pool which is open all day, a poolside bar (which we didn't try) and the main bar in the evening. It comes with Entertainment included so you can break out the vocal chords on Karaoke nights, do a quiz or play bingo. David, the main barman, is a true asset to the place! He's very dry and very entertaining. Try to get him to sing in the karaoke. There's also a shop but it's very spartan, but has most essentials, and a launderette for patrons. Use Uber to get into town, it's half the cost of a taxi, but be outside when they turn up because they don't hang around. Also, be aware of a Tourist tax of about €14 each when you check out. We were completely unaware of it, but that's not their fault.
