The staff on the front desk: 1 star. ( Not welcoming and never said hello or made eye contact with us throughout our stay)
The staff in the breakfast hall: 5 stars
Neuza and her team could give the check in staff a lesson on customer care. She also gave us more info on tourist attractions than the staff on the front desk.
Breakfast: 4 stars
Not everything was available every day but there was always a good choice.
Cleanliness: 5 stars
Pool area: 5 stars
On the whole we had a good experience but there are areas that could be improved.
We ordered room service on the first night which wasn't very good, and the tray it was delivered on was still in the corridor outside of our room until the following evening.
I would stay here again as our stay was good overall.

We got married at the Vida Mar last week and it was incredible from the second we woke up until the last dance on the dance floor. Ana and her team were amazing with the day running so smoothly and it was purely faultless. Anyone thinking of getting married in the Algarve this is the place to do it with its palm trees, coastal views and impeccable staff we wish we could do it all over again!

We are just home from having our wedding here ! It's just amazing! The staff are so good, Ana our wedding co-ordinator was phenomenal. She went above and beyond for us . We ended up with a rain storm but she still pulled it out of the bag with last minute changes. She also helped us plan the wedding , I didn't need a wedding planner !! The food was unreal , we had the bbq buffet and it was so chill and tasty! The bar staff were so attentive . As soon as they see your drink is gone they're over with another . Nothing was a problem at reception. We stayed in the room the night before , room service staff were amazing. Bell boys amazing too . A very friendly hotel all round

Excellent staff and service. Spacious rooms. Good breakfast buffet. Nespresso café great for lunch. Dinner buffet ok, but maybe too many fish options
Room service very efficient.
Spa extremely expensive for casual one-off visits (€15) but I bought a four-week pass for €80 which proved to be a good decision.
Only one criticism: I had a haircut and beard trim: €40. I went back the following day to get my beard trimmed a bit more and was charged a further €10. A female guest was similarly unimpressed with the price she was charged.
That apart, I enjoyed my six-week stay at the Vidamar and hope to return one day.
