Very friendly and they all try to make the stay great. It could be a five star rating but I am a foodie and wish that these big hotels would have more Egyptian food or local food. On the first night there was a really nice duck. BBQ night was also good. Everything is clean and lots of choices and a nice reef

Firstly, our holiday at Tropitel was absolutely fantastic and we will be booking again. It falls short of five stars in a few small areas such as room maintenance and the toilets down the corridor from Mermaid bar and table and chairs by the pool bar all of which needed replacing or renovation. But honestly other than those few things it was fantastic for the price we paid. The staff are amazing. Our room cleaner was 10/10. The entertainment staff were fantastic 👏 The bar man in the mermaid bar was again 10/10 providing us with a constant supply of drinks and snacks; it was a shame he was moved to another area of the hotel before the end of our visit. The reception staff are quite curt and as a first impression and start of our holiday they were not the most friendly. A glass on fizz on arrival is usually customary in five star hotels too. We had zero complaints about the food and the choice. Particularly the sushi night... Just wow 👏👏👏 Felt really safe in the hotel and on the sea front between the hotel and Hurghada. Would 100% recommend this hotel and visit again.

We stayed there for 3 nights.
The rooms were old and the facilities need improvements.
Yet it was kids-friendly.
Snacks were only served in one place.
The Italian and Mexican restaurants are awful in terms of quality and variety.
The breakfast was great. Special Thanks to Chef Haitham.
The animation team was amazing.
Some stuff members were only serving people who tipped them, I only tip after I receive special service.
I don’t believe this hotel should be 5 stars, neither the service nor the food was 5 stars, i wouldn’t recommend this hotel in comparison to other 5 Stars hotels.

We stayed in this marvellous hotel for 10 days and I can confirm that it is everything you could want. We booked a superior room with a sea view but were initially checked in a room with a pool and side sea view. I thought it was great but we moved to a full sea view which was even better. Absolutely breathtaking. It was on the 5th floor, which is the top floor. The rooms on this floor are all huge and mostly identical (I peeped in a few). Housekeeping is second to none. Absolutely fantastic.
We mainly encountered male staff throughout the hotel. They were all professional and pleasant and made us feel comfortable and well looked after. I left my iPhone in the restaurant and when I frantically ran back to look for it a member of staff had put it aside for me. I could have hugged him (I didn’t, but I gave him a big tip).
This hotel seems quite big but it was easy to get everywhere quickly because of its horseshoe shape. The main pool was more attractive than functional for swimming laps. There is a water slide with two more pools. There is a spa area with another pool and a quiet area with a pool for swimming laps. Then there is the ocean. On the beach there are loads of cabanas, some with beds and some with deckchairs. No need to book the deckchair ones.
The day entertainment was very basic and the shows in the evening were only okay. The children’s entertainment was 7:30-9pm and consisted of face painting and an 30 minute disco. The adult entertainment is a show 9:30-10pm. The mermaid bar is FREEZING because the ac is so high
I loved my holiday and would recommend and return.
One thing I did not really enjoy was the staff constantly trying to sell things like activities, spa treatments, etc. They were relentless. Particularly if you were sitting by the pool or on the beach.

We have spent a week in Tropitel Sahl Hasheesh hotel with my partner in March 2024 and almost all staff members (vast majority of them being local men) only talked to him and completely ignored my presence. I’m guessing, because he is a man and I’m a woman. When we walked or sat together by the pool, all I’ve heard was “Hello friend!”, “How are you boss?” “Hello Sir, would you like a drink?” all addressed to my partner only, as if he is there by himself and I’m just not there at all. First time in my life I’ve been treated like this. And it’s from all male staff in the hotel and around: the SPA man, the drinks man, the boat trips man, the safari man, the bartenders, the serving staff, all of them! A couple of times I’ve called this out, and the person would apologise. I’ve given up soon though and just tried to ignore this, save what is left of my holiday and patiently wait for my flight back to normality. The only humane attitude I’ve received was from rare female staff members, in particular on our last day: Maria from Guest Relations has asked for our feedback and I was glad that a) for the first time a person is addressing to BOTH of us b) to share my utter frustration. Maria was great and was sorry to hear about my experience and has promised to hand this complaint to the Manager. Your hotel needs more Marias. Give her a raise, she needs to run the place.
Nonetheless, Maria’s professionalism couldn’t erase a week of disrespect from the dozens of staff members I’ve encountered: I’m never coming back and not recommending to all my friends and colleagues – neither the hotel, nor Egypt in general, because all I know of Egypt is this hotel and I’m not paying again to be treated with disrespect.
As for the other aspects: canteen was amazing. Great variety of food and of good quality, I was quite impressed with the work that’s put into the food prep. Every dish had a tag in several languages which definitely is a great touch. Kitchen is working at 5 out of 5 I’d say! Again, servers were not interested at the least what I’d like and only talked to my male partner.
Great facilities on site: chill-out pool with heated water, water-slides, etc. Very content with what’s on premises. The rooms are very spacious and well furnished, AC worked well, the balcony is amazing. Bathroom definitely needs some minor renovation. It is not a 5 star hotel as we understand it, in Europe I’d expect this to be a 3-4 star hotel max. But even that wouldn’t stop me from rating it at 5 in this review, if I was treated as usual. It’s a shame, as definitely a lot of work is put into the place and maintaining it, but basic thing like not treating women as people is just spoiling it all.
Shops on the hotel premises is a separate story. The shop assistants bombard you with a million questions about you the second you walk in and wouldn’t leave you alone until you just run for your life. Couldn’t buy anything in the end because we were never left alone to just have a look at things.
One addition: when I came back home from my holiday (gosh I was never so keen to come back), I’ve asked people in my team at work, and a few of them had holidays in Egypt and were surprised by my experience with female discrimination. Seems like this “culture” thing is being tackled successfully in other hotels and staff there is trained to treat all guests equally.
