Stayed 8 nights here in Feb. The service was excellent, everyone friendly and happy to help. Our room was lovely, although in the new block so a bit of a walk round. The air in the rooms was quite dry and it was difficult to get the right balance with the aircon.
Used the indoor and outdoor pool during the stay. They say heated but could do with being a bit warmer. The inside whirlpool was quite cold and the jets quite aggressive!
Had the breakfast one morning. Pricey but an amazing choice. Plenty of cold and hot options. You definitely wouldn’t get bored if you had it everyday!
The location is pretty convenient. Bus stop outside to get to Valletta and plenty of restaurants and things close by.
The chocolate cake from the lounge was delicious.

I recently stayed at the Westin Dragonara in Malta and had a mixed experience.
The hotel itself is beautiful and offers true 5-star amenities. The property is well maintained, the breakfast buffet was very nice with a good variety, and the location is excellent—close to nightlife, restaurants, and entertainment. Having the casino right next door is also a plus for those who enjoy that.
However, the biggest downside was the lack of individual air conditioning control. The hotel operates on a central system that switches between heat or AC depending on the season. During our stay, it was warm during the day, but AC was not available. We were advised to open the balcony doors for ventilation, which was not a realistic solution due to constant noise from children screaming at the pool below noted the entire day. This made it very difficult to sleep comfortably or even feel like the room was breathable.
We were later told that only luxury suites have proper air conditioning control, which is disappointing for a hotel of this caliber.
Overall, while the hotel delivers on amenities, location, and service, I would rate it closer to a 4-star experience due to the inability to sleep comfortably and the lack of climate control in standard rooms. If you’re sensitive to noise or heat, I strongly recommend booking a luxury suite—or considering another property.

My wife and I had a wonderful 4 night stay. The room was comfortable, with great views. The service was outstanding. The hotel set up a couple of first class tours for us. We loved our overall experience in Malta too!! Thank you.

We were staying elsewhere but visited our friends who invited us to the Hotel.
Varied experience. The service at the main bar was excellent however surprisingly they didn't stock several common drink brands. We had a snack at the Pool Bar restaurant and the service here was not particularly good or attentive. My chicken burger was slightly undercooked. No cutlery was offered. So I assumed that it had to be hand to mouth food, however no napkins offered, had to request. The table hadn't be cleared or tidy. Previous used condiments present. Very poor overall at the Pool Bar. No-one came over to check. The staff seemed disconnected with the customers. Some serious corrective training is required at this station.
Glad that we chose somewhere else for our vacation to Malta.

This was our second stay at the property, and once again, it was an exceptional experience. After our original travel plans were cancelled, we decided to return to Malta and stay at The Westin for the entirety of our trip.
Prior to arrival, we arranged an airport transfer through the concierge, and Joseph handled this efficiently with clear and prompt communication. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were warmly welcomed by Nana at reception, who ensured a smooth check-in process and kindly answered all of our questions about the property.
When we entered our room, we were very impressed. It was spacious, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully prepared. We were also delighted to find a fruit basket and a card welcoming us back, which was a lovely and personal touch. We had upgraded to a superior room, and the view was truly outstanding.
Throughout our stay, every member of staff we encountered was friendly, attentive, and professional. We also dined at the hotel’s Italian restaurant one evening, where the food was excellent and the experience thoroughly enjoyable.
Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a five-star experience in Malta. We look forward to returning again in the future.
