We had a lovely time visiting Karon Beach, and The Old Phuket Resort surely made us feel welcome and taken care of.
They offered a daily breakfast buffet as well as neat housekeeping of the room, and their friendly staff helped us in terms of both check-in and checkout.
I will remember the friendly and smiling faces of their staff members, and think back to lovely memories close to the beach and swimming pool.
The only minor things that could improve a slight bit would be the opportunity to take the breakfast with us back to the hotel room - but I understand that they might have experienced guests in the past that would exploit that negatively, so I understand their limitations.
Also, the room had power sockets that were a bit unstable, so I had to keep the cable pressed in with my fingers in order to boil water in the kettle - only a minor inconvenience, though.
Overall, I'm very pleased with my experiences as a guest at this resort.

Late in the evening my husband and I wanted to take the road adjacent to the hotel to shorten the route. THE ENTRANCE WAS OPEN AND THERE WAS NO ONE AT THE SECURITY POST! We walked halfway and an angry security guard on a bicycle rode up to us and started yelling at us to get out because we were not hotel guests. I understand everything, but it was so ill-mannered and rude that it left a disgusting impression of this hotel. The guard simply left his place, the entrance was open, nothing prevented us from going through the hotel. Very unpleasant.

This hotel was just average. Breakfast is terrible - don’t waste money on it. It’s possibly the worst we’ve ever had - I’ve been to hostels with better. The buffet isn’t even kept warm. The rooms are fine but the shower is outdoor - only a bath is indoor. So if you want to have a quick shower you always need to wear swimming costume otherwise the balcony of people above you can see. Quite inconvenient. The staff are friendly but and it’s clean

Great location near to beach, and all restaurants/bars. Rooms we stayed in a little out dated but comfortable. Breakfast a little disappointed but didn't spoil our holiday. Staff at reception really helpful and always there to assist.

The staff at reception is terrible. Right down awful. Thailand is such a welcoming place, but these people couldn’t care less about their guests. People actually working are however super kind. We didn’t get the room we booked and they just shock their shoulders when we asked why, since we booked it 6 months in advance AND spoke to them a week before. They had plenty of opportunities to inform us, they chose not to.
When we booked a taxi with them to the airport (4 people with lots of baggage, they got us a small car and looked confused when we told them this isn’t going to work). Instead of helping us they all went the front desk to go take photos and selfies.
There is no bar open after 19 o’clock.
We won’t be back.
