Review (late November stay)
“The Level”
It is hard to imagine a better hotel. It is also hard to believe there could be other hotels in Alicante that surpass the Meliá Alicante. This stay was in The Level, the more luxurious section of the hotel, and it truly delivers a premium experience.
The hotel has everything one could need: excellent service, comfortable and well-appointed rooms, and a very well-trained, professional staff. The restaurant is very good, the reception is efficient, and the different areas of the hotel are clearly defined and well separated, which adds to a sense of calm and order.
The location is excellent—within walking distance of virtually anywhere in the city. It is quiet at night, feels safe, and is ideal for resting and enjoying Alicante without stress.
I honestly cannot imagine a better hotel in Alicante.

We had a fantastic stay at The Level and can’t praise the team enough. Before we even arrived, Silvia had our airport transfers organised with such speed and precision that we briefly wondered if she had a direct line to the pilots.
Then, when we decided we fancied a last-minute room upgrade, Daniel handled it so effortlessly that it felt like he had a magic button marked “Make It Happen”. Both of them were brilliant and set the tone for a very relaxed break.
Our room was modern, comfortable and came with a cracking view of Postiguet Beach from the balcony — exactly the sort of view that makes you think, “Yes, this was definitely the right choice.”
The whole Level experience felt smooth and welcoming, and the location really couldn’t be better with both the beach and marina right on the doorstep.
Overall, we had a great time and would happily return. Excellent staff, lovely atmosphere and a stay that felt far too easy… in the best possible way.

Simply put, the building work is a big problem.
Check-in was laughable, walking around the hotel to find The Levels concierge... which is in actual fact behind a locked door. So into the queue at main reception.
Booking the Sea View room which was pretty good, but on the last stay of our long weekend building work started at 8.30am with an awful lot of noise making the balcony unusable, and this also prevented us leaving the door open making the room quite warm
The Levels facilities are also seem significantly downgraded or down-sized while work is going on. Not least the lounge which also suffered with staff simply not keeping it clean and tidy, so dirty crockery and bottles piled up on tables outside.
That said it's a good location and staff were really friendly, it just wasn't really a premium experience with refurbishment going on, which wasn't sufficiently communicated.

Expensive hotel, but worth it as the rooms are modern, the views beautiful (we were on the beach, rather than marina, side), and it includes snacks and drinks pretty much all day long. There was construction work going on, which we were not told about when booking, but it turns out it barely affected our stay (we only lost out on the infinity pool and nice view from the private lounge). We stayed on the 5th floor, which was extremely quiet, perfect. Most of the people who stay there are english retirees, just FYI.

The staff at the level were so friendly, the level itself is child free area, free breakfast wine beer Coca Cola etc. the breakfast is really good, so many options with smiley staff making fresh omlettes. It wasn’t just continental breakfast but had bacon, sausage etc. the little things go along way, for example the cups are refrigerated to make sure your drink is ice cold. The sun does go behind the hotel but you just sunbathe near the pool. The chairs could be a bit more spaced out as it does feel a bit close together. We were situated quite far from the level but we didn’t think it was that bigger deal. Hotel staff are so pleasant, rooms are super clean, bed comfy (although pillows are fairly soft). Overall worth every penny.
