A brilliant stay at Sol Barbacán. There are two good sized swimming pools for adults and children, a jacuzzi and an adult pool. All in good spots. There is also a decent sized gym with a range of weights and machines.
The rooms were generously proportioned and balconies quite big. There is a relaxed vibe around pool areas, you will not struggle for a sun lounger. It was good to see pool attendants stopping people “reserving loungers” so there is no mad dash to the sun loungers in the morning. The food at the hotel is lovely and fairly priced. The restaurant has a great food menu. There is entertainment every night and activities during the day. The animation is more understated but good fun. WiFi is very good. Cleaning service was very good and reception accommodated all requests.
The sand dunes are around a 15-20 minute walk away and there are good bus services nearby to places such as Anfi and Puerto de Mogàn. Maspalomas is not far away via taxi or bus. Probably around 45-60 minute walk. Plenty of restaurants to visit in the local area. Highly recommend!

A lovely hotel with great facilities! I felt very welcomed by the staff on arrival. The gym had everything needed and breakfast too with a lot to choose from. The staff were amazing, Especially Dina working on the bar, she was very friendly and she works very hard. The room was clean and I had nothing to complain about, the housekeeper Pino also made me feel very welcome at the hotel with her kind personality and she did an amazing job cleaning the room every day. The evening entertainment was fun and very entertaining! Food and drinks were also great! I will definitely visit again when in Gran Canaria.

Could not fault this hotel,room was very spacious and clean , everything you need for self catering. Hotel is lovely, staff were very friendly, family friendly with 3 pools to choose from and 2 bars. Would definitely come back here

Slightly on the outskirts, but excellent location. No shortage of shops and restaurants nearby, but far enough from the madness
Staff were so lovely, especially as they gave us a birthday bottle of prosecco.
3 pools were lovely, especially the adults pool. The breakfast was amazing.

The hotel's location is fantastic, just a short walk from the beach and the dunes, making it ideal for those looking to explore the coastal surroundings.
Regarding the room, my initial allocation was not quite what I had expected or booked. However, as soon as I raised my concerns with Davenia, she swiftly took action. The following day, she and her team arranged a room change that perfectly matched my expectations. Throughout my stay, they were consistently helpful and attentive—truly a hospitality team that cares.
