Wagas listened carefully to my requests and responded with clear, helpful information. The location of the hotel was good, and the room was nice. However, I had a experience with customer service regarding my reservations. I had booked under a group rate and wanted to add an additional guest. I sent an email one day before check-in but received no response. I called four times, but my calls were continuously diverted to "my colleague." I left my number, but there was still no follow-up.
When we checked in, everything seemed fine. I checked the fridge all the beverage and then we went out for a couple of hours. When we found that the fridge door was locked. I called the reception, and a staff member came to unlock it. He mentioned that the drinks in the fridge were not complimentary.
This raises a couple of concerns for me. First, they entered our room while we were away to lock the fridge? which compromises our privacy. Secondly, we had left a 500 AED deposit if we did consume any drinks, they should have just deducted the cost from that deposit.
Lastly, the room next door was undergoing renovations, and the noise and smell of paint were so strong that we couldn't stay in our room during the day.

It’s not on the beach but beach bag with beach mat and back rest available to take from hotel
Modern clean fresh rooms
Stayed on 32nd floor.
Booked luxury room but booking (love holidays) didn’t make clear this was king only. We needed a twin.
“Downgraded” to standard room but only difference was sea view vs partial sea view. Offered club access by Divya for the stay as compensation , this was welcome especially to avoid the 10.30 breakfast rush as breakfast ends at 1100.
Good pool views , wasn’t too busy when we went .
Hannington at the front door was helpful with advice on getting taxis and arranging airport transfer.

We have stayed at the Sofitel Palm a few times and we would like to send our heartfelt thanks to the team, esp Mr. Lasantha Fernando!
He remembered all our names, hobbies and ensured the restaurants catered for our nut allergy. Formidable! Merci... we truly appreciate his hospitality, a genuinely remarkable person and it must be said, there are not many like him in large hotels!
Thanks also to the team at Hong Loong, where we enjoyed a wonderful evening meal and to the outdoor Sabre team, who work tirelessly in the heat serving ice-cold beverages. Kailash in the gym was most helpful and the valet team always made us smile.
