We were pleasantly surprised by our two-night Valentine’s stay at this new resort. The atmosphere is quiet and serene, complemented by a great crowd and friendly staff. We especially loved the long, layered pathways—perfect for romantic evening walks.
The kids had a blast at Seashell Beach, and the water activities were a fantastic bonus. While the resort itself is lush and charming, the view of the cranes on Marjan Island is a bit of a drawback. Dining-wise, the food is decent, though Asian cuisine options are fairly limited. Overall, a beautiful, fresh resort with wonderful greenery.

The good:
- The staff, each member of the staff were friendly, professional and a real credit to the hotel. In fact when our ride to the airport was delayed they were so helpful and went above and beyond to lend us their car seat and order a new taxi to ensure we made our flight.
- The food, we tried the French, Polynesian and buffet throughout our stay and all were lovely. I’m usually not a fan of buffets but this one was good!
- The room was tastefully decorated and the ceilings were nice and high (we stayed in a luxury garden view room).
- The pool area always had sufficient chairs whatever time of day.
The bad:
- Not a criticism of the hotel but across the water from Sofitel a new giant hotel/casino is being built so the view is somewhat impacted by this construction and building work which is a shame. However, I wouldn’t let this deter you from staying.
- The queue at egg station in the mornings can be long.
Areas for possible improvement:
- I had to look really hard for things here, but I would suggest when the rooms ultimately come to be refurbished then not having white/cream sofas which show marks would be a good idea! I feel in doing so currently it dates the room more than is fair.
- Thicker toilet paper.
- Getting a drink at the buffet can be challenging as you aren’t automatically asked and had to flag down a waiter.
Overall I would gladly recommend the Sofitel for a stay in RAK.

We have spent 7 nights here and it was one of our best hotel experiences so far. Our room was ground floor in a villa with ocean view, in perfect condition and really beautiful. The staff was giving us the best service starting from Tino at reception at check in, Uttar the bell boy, the house keeping, restaurant staff, the pool boys and safety guards, everyone showed a great spirit and hospitality. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The food in East restaurant was really good, everybody should be able to find something here. The beach and pools are always clean, you always find a nice place to stay.

We had such a lovely stay at Sofitel Al Hamra Beach Resort. From the moment we arrived, everything just felt easy and welcoming. The rooms are very spacious, beautifully set up, and kept absolutely spotless.
What truly made our stay special was the service. George the East restaurant manager was fantastic, always warm and attentive. Ahmed at the pool looked after us so well, and Uttar and the rest of the team were just wonderful — always smiling and ready to help.
A big thank you to the whole team for making our time there so memorable. We’ll definitely be back!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Sofitel Al Hamra Beach Resort. From the very first moment, everything felt perfectly organized, warm and welcoming. The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, and you immediately feel that you are in very good hands.
The rooms are beautiful, spacious and extremely well equipped. Everything is thoughtfully designed, very clean and incredibly comfortable. You truly feel at ease from day one. The entire resort is maintained to a very high standard, and the attention to detail is visible everywhere.
What really stood out to us was the exceptional level of service. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive and genuinely caring. Especially at the pool area, the service was outstanding. A special thank you goes to Swami, whose warm, attentive and naturally kind personality made every day by the pool even more enjoyable and truly memorable.
The pool area itself is spacious, with beautiful and very comfortable sun loungers and a calm, relaxing atmosphere. There is plenty of space to unwind. It is perfect for families with small children and also ideal during pregnancy, because you can truly slow down and recharge here. The direct beach access is another huge plus and makes the whole experience even more special.
The restaurants are excellent. We would especially like to highlight the Reunion Restaurant. Five stars for the outstanding French cuisine. The food was absolutely delicious and without question one of the culinary highlights of our stay.
Overall, we experienced outstanding hospitality, amazing service and a truly beautiful atmosphere. We had a fantastic time and would return anytime without hesitation. Highly recommended.
