Arriving in Marbella for 4 nights checked into the Senator… which to be honest is an “okay” hotel.
Cleanliness wise there is no problems here.
I had booked a suite, which upon arrival I forfeited as all of the suites face onto the mountains rather than the sea, which is ashame, but the deal breaker was the fact that none of the suites have balcony’s… this was not acceptable to me and I opted to move to a “superior room” which is not superior at all. That said a nice room with a decent bed and furniture setup.
A nice rooftop pool which is ideal for swimming lengths.
A basement “hydrotherapy” pool and which in all honesty needs a refurb.
If you’re looking for luxury and up to date quality, look elsewhere. If you want “affordable” comfort, this will probably work for you

Very nice hotel, spacious rooms, you can travel with dogs. There is a spa downstairs, which one can use for 25€ per person and half for kids. The staff is very friendly and always eager to help. Location unbeatable, just behind the beach and a 15 min walk into Marbella old town. Rooms were quite hot and A/C wasn't working at this time of the year, but nothing that a quick opening of the terrace door wouldn't solve. Rooms were sound proof and I didn't hear any barking or other noises! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The bed was very comfortable. The rooms were very clean and well serviced. The one point was the roof top swimming pool and jacuzzi were closed until April which was disappointing. There is the spa pool which cost 25 euros a session. When we asked for discount the service desk gave us a card for 15% off.

Absolutely horrible! This hotel was a disaster from start to finish. Upon entering the room, I was immediately hit by a musty smell, and it didn't take long to discover the cause: mold. On the walls where they'd just painted over them, in the corners, even on the ceiling at the hotel entrance! Black mold. The ceiling even looks out at you. Not only was it unsavory, but it was also potentially hazardous to your health. The cleanliness of the rooms also left a lot to be desired. Dust was all over the surface, and the beds were obviously not freshly made. I found hair and stains on the sheets—simply disgusting. The bathroom was just as bad, with dirty tiles and a shower that clearly hadn't been cleaned. Mold was growing on the grout and silicone. The toilet was neither cleaned nor properly sanitized. The staff seemed either completely unfazed by the situation or simply overwhelmed. While they were very polite and willing to listen, they unfortunately couldn't do anything about it, as water damage has been spreading here for several months! I felt completely uncomfortable in this hotel and can't recommend it to anyone. Save your money and find somewhere else to stay unless you want to stay in a moldy, dirty dump.

We stayed at Senator Hotel for four days in February 2025 to celebrate my birthday (me and my wife). Since Marbella is usually our travel destination, this time we decided to try this hotel for the first time.
The hotel was very clean, with a friendly reception staff. The rooms were spacious and spotless, with daily housekeeping and great amenities. The view was amazing, and the glass elevator was a nice touch.
The location was perfect—close to everything! Shops, cafés, local restaurants, Starbucks, and even luxury dining options were all within walking distance. It was also near Marbella Club and Maxximus, and only a 10-minute walk to Marbella Old Town.
Just a 1-minute walk to the beautiful Marbella beach and the stunning Costa del Sol coastline.
Also free parking spot beside hotel with large parking spots
On my birthday, I received a lovely surprise from the hotel (champagne on ice), which showed their great attention to guests.
We will definitely return to this hotel for future trips!
