Just came back from our visit to SBH Monica Beach resort and we absolutely loved it! We were sceptical about going at first based on reading some negative reviews almost to the point where we nearly cancelled but we went anyway and we are so glad that we did. This hotel is a massive site and we ended up with a full apartment for the week, the rooms are slightly dated but was very spacious and well kept. The cleaners are very on top of maintaining the whole hotel and are all very friendly and quick to say hello which made us feel very welcome! We were worried after reading some of the reviews about the food but we couldn’t fault it at all throughout the week, there’s plenty of option and variety to choose from- it was always warm and fresh too. The waiters were also very quick to take plates away once finished with and were also very friendly and polite. We also found the drinks to be very good too and it was nice to have branded soft drinks available on tap. The location of the hotel is perfect for a relaxing holiday with the beach being on the doorstep, however if you do like getting out and about there isn’t much in the surrounding area. Excursions can be booked or you can rent a car directly from the hotel’s reception if you’d like to go out and explore though! We decided to get on the coach to the local zoo which is only 10 minutes away which was great and not too expensive. For some reason this hotel seems to be very German guest dominated, some of them were slightly rude towards us but it didn’t effect our overall stay, there wasn’t many others staying from the UK like ourselves. Overall we had a lovely stay here, we can’t get our head around some of the negative reviews left about this place, for what we paid it’s extremely good value for money and we hope leaving this review will encourage more people to go despite some negative reviews found online. Having read some of the reviews of this hotel on a number of different forums, I must say I was unsure of what to expect. We had a fantastic week and would recommend this hotel to anyone. Let me give more details: Room We had a pool view room, it was spotless and we had maid service everyday except one. Very comfortable, we paid for the safe which was large enough for all our electronics including a large laptop, handbag and everything we wanted to put in it. Food The food was well prepared and well presented, we stayed 7 nights and there was plenty of variety for our stay. We took advantage of the one night at the Asian Specialty restaurant which was very nice. Staff The most polite staff of any hotel we have ever stayed in. Almost every member of staff had a smile and would say hello as you passed. Pool One half of the split pool was heated during our stay. It was a nice relaxing pool with a bar and snack bar and plenty of loungers for the number of guests whilst we were there. Beach It is €15 a day for two loungers and a parasol and the beach is lovely. The all-inclusive ‘Africa Bar’ is close enough to still get inclusive drinks and is only two minutes walk. I even managed to pick up the hotel WiFi whilst on my lounger on the beach next to the sea. Bars and entertainment The entertainment staff were very energetic and there was plenty to do if that’s your thing. If not they were no hassle and just as polite as the rest of the staff. The drinks from the bars were great as was the evening entertainment (mainly)

The staff are amazing and the food is great. The entertainment is also good! 45 seconds walk to the beach. We had a spacious room. Everywhere is kept clean and tidy. We spent Christmas and New Years there and the hotel manager and his staff went above and beyond for their guests! We will definitely be visiting SBH Monica Beach Resort later on in the year!

My mother and I were on vacation in this resort. Unfortunately my mother had an accident and had problems walking. The next day she got another room closer to the restaurant and we could borrow a wheel chair. The staff were very kind and helpful! The restaurant staff was kind too and asked how my mother and I were doing. The rooms are spacious and clean. I loved my room by the sea. The view is gorgeous! I do recommend renting the safe. I noticed damage on the door of someone trying to break in. It would also feel safer if there was a light on the terrace. The food was tasty and there were various options. After some days there was not much variety anymore. I would recommend tap points for water to fill water bottles or free water bottles. Tea with the lunch would also be nice. Furthermore, the restaurant looked very white and did not have any atmosphere. It could use some plants. 🙂🌴 I love how the local cats are treated, with water and food and shelters.

Perfect for its sand beach right in front of the hotel. 4 tennis courts. Warmed pool. Kids slide. Surf point near. Good food. Take only the sea view! Simple but good rooms.
