We stayed at the Sani Dunes in the Sani Resort, and we can honestly say: the resort itself is absolutely beautiful! It’s spacious, first-class, and impeccably clean. The location is wonderful – peaceful yet conveniently situated. The staff are extremely attentive and genuinely friendly, making you feel welcome from the very first moment.
The rooms are large, modern, and spotless. The beds are super comfortable – we can’t comment on the pillows since we brought our own, though the ones provided seemed a bit flat. The e-concierge service was excellent, and our visit to the spa was also a real highlight – relaxing and very professional.
The Private Garden Rooms are particularly lovely. The greenery surrounding the garden provides a pleasant sense of privacy – both in the pool-view and sea-view options. However, it’s worth mentioning that to reach the restaurants or beach, guests walk directly past these gardens, especially those in the front beach sea view area. That’s also where the main path runs, along which the golf caddies drive. So, while the garden feels private, it’s still somewhat visible to passersby.
We could only spend two days by the pool because of the weather – we were there during the low season. However, music was played at the pool bar in the afternoons, and it wasn’t exactly quiet. You could clearly hear it even in the private garden areas. Just a heads-up: it might get louder during the high season, and other reviews may mention this as well. For us, that wasn’t ideal, as we specifically chose Sani Dunes because it’s less family-oriented and we were hoping for peace and relaxation. Overall, it was a bit too noisy for our taste.
The biggest downside for us, however, was the food. We tried the buffet once – it was okay-ish, nothing more – and had two Dine-Around experiences. Sadly, we found that these were essentially just nicely presented buffet dishes. For example, the mashed potatoes were clearly from a packet and not freshly made.
The best restaurant we tried was Lima (A la Carte) – the food there was truly delicious, but the value for money wasn’t right. For example, five small green asparagus spears with a bit of sauce as a side dish cost €17, which felt excessive.
Overall, we were quite disappointed with the dining experience, especially after seeing so many beautiful photos suggesting a fine-dining level of quality. We had been really looking forward to that, but the reality didn’t meet our expectations.
We’ve stayed in other 5-star resorts – even in Greece – for less money and had far better food. Since dining is an important part of a relaxing holiday for us, we’d rather have a smaller room if the food were truly exceptional.
In summary: a stunning resort with wonderful service, beautiful rooms, and a lovely atmosphere – but with limited garden privacy, noticeable poolside noise, and a disappointing culinary experience for the price. For that reason, we probably wouldn’t return.

I have been coming with my family to Sani Dunes for many years, but this year, it has hit an all-time low.
Terribly poor customer service, overpriced room (€3k) "beachfront" to be above the kitchen breathing the smell of food or of the smoking of the staff taking their break, with garbage disposal and collection just behind. Ants coming in the "better" room from holes in it s walls (pictures attached)
Furthermore, the cleaning of the room is very basic for the standard the hotel claims to be, the terrace was never cleaned in 10 days, delicacies delivered full of ants (look at the pictures).
Forced to change room in the middle of the stay for a higher category but the room standard and experience was worse. Very poorly handled by the hotel, nothing was mentioned at check in, just notified 30minutes before that the room needs to be freed in a very unpleasant manner...
When all the problems were brought up to the hotel management, nothing was done, the manager did not even show his face, not even a courtesy note for an overdue apology.
Shameful and very poor management for a hotel that pretends to be 5 stars.
Customers are just treated as a number, not as humans paying an excessive amount of money for such a poor experience.
To be avoided, there are much better options at this price than this hotel

An absolutely amazing resort! It’s the 4th time of visiting the Sani resort and this time we stayed in Dunes as we were going as a couple rather than a family.
