Good hotel and resort near the Salgados and Galé beaches: 6 minutes driving or about 30-35i minutes walking. The resort has large and nice gardens and several outside swimming pools.

Don't get me wrong, the hotel was great, the food was actually very good and all the amenities, you'd fancy in your holidays were there. That all was unfortunately for nothing as the staff was the very very worst. Starting with the reception, where the ladies were either enormously arrogant or didn't speak English properly (!), to the staff in the main restaurant that made it constantly clear that it didn't want to be nor work there (smashing dishes and cutlery on their service wagon, not providing any sort of service, not fixing either one of the three broken coffee machines that needed to be emptied but sorting napkins into papers that were put on the tables later, and so on) and of course, no "good morning" and anything like a smile to the guests - nothing. We felt really bad every single time we were in contact with either the reception, were eating in the restaurants or accessed the spa (which was basically a rip off as they were offering an aroma therapy massage but provided a normal one, facial treatment was not as promised) or we met a housekeeping staff person in the hallways - there was never, and I sadly mean never at all a "good morning" or a "how are you today?" or anything else you'd imagine to receive as a guest in a wannabe 5-star resort.

Great hotel overall, nothing to complain about the Hotel nor the stay. 5 stars all the way.
The booking customer service, on the other hand, was a dreadful experience.
I booked through Booking.com and made a mistake while booking, as I booked for one room but wanted another more spacious one. It happens... So I called the NAU Hotels Booking Service to fix my mistake, i.e. paying the difference to updgrade to a more spacious room. Immediatly I was greeting by rudeness and incomprehensiveness, and in the end I was not able to do the upgrade. I though someone was having a bad day so I decided to call again later. Different person, same treatment.
Overall I had to call 4 times, each time someone told me a different thing and I ended up calling Booking.com to sort the issue.
Customer Booking Service not fit for the hotel standard. Everything else was perfect.

I'll start by pointing out what I enjoyed the most:
The buffet in the morning and evening was consistently solid.
The pools were also great, and I particularly enjoyed the sauna and spa pool!! Have to check them out during your stay!!
The negatives:
The snack bar by the outdoor pools is ridiculously bad. It is so bad, that I would objectively give them a 1/5 stars (and I'd never done that to anywhere.) reasons are, quality of food and service, which both lack immensely! But unfortunately they do have the upper hand in convenience, so we kept going back to them.
The gym was kind of silly, and had it not been foe the dumbbells nothing was operational. And the steam room did not work.
All and all the location is great and it allows you to explore the beaches closeby, and I would suggest here to anyone traveling with children. They do a great job helping families!
