Rocha Brava Resort is such a wonderful place. We stayed here with HPB end of May.
The site is stunning. The staff in the onsite restaurant and pool snack bar are friendly and welcoming.
The food onsite is delicious, O Farol restaurant is really good and reasonably priced, we ate there twice and thought the food was excellent.
The pools of which there are 5 dotted around, are great, though we only spent time at the main one because this was the one the kids preferred.
The apartment, despite a little need for modernisation in the lounge area, the apartment was well laid out with loads of space, 2 bedrooms, one being a twin for the kids, wardrobes and draws, air conditioning in the bedrooms and two modern bathrooms/shower rooms.
We didn't use the kitchen too much, just for breakfast really, but it was well stocked. I understand dishwashers are going in in Dec 26.
Tip: Uber eats delivers directly to your door. We ordered sushi from a place in Carvoeiro.
To get around we just used Uber.
The closest beach was an easy walk down hill, about 10 mins walk. We Ubered back up. The site run a shuttle mini bus to Carvoeiro 10am 2pm and 5pm and returns shortly after from the town.
We have quite high standards from our holiday resort and this place didn't disappoint.

Resort is well maintained, with lovely gardens and walkways. Our room was much larger than we thought and we were surprised to find it included a washing machine! You'll need your own soap, and there was no drying rack available (even when we asked as we same some on other patios).
The restaurant on property O Farol is quite expensive and unless you can show them proof of the "welcome offer" they are not going to honour it. Note that the posted discount only applies if you pay in cash.
Customer service from the desk was a bit lacking. It took two trips down (there are no phones to call from in the room and we didn't want to make an international call), to have an urgent issue dealt with but they did eventually come deal with it.
Curtains are not darkening so be prepared to wake up with the sun.
Both outdoor pools were really nice, the back one near the cliff walk felt very peaceful and secluded. Access to the cliff walk was a great perk.
While you could walk to Carvoeiro, it's going to be walking up and down hills along the main roads. The resort is in a great location to explore the Algarve by car. We found it a lovely quiet spot to come back to after a day of exploring.

This is a phenomenal resort with great food and drinks, a kid’s club with Ms. Andrea who is amazing, beautiful landscaping and well maintained pools. You don’t have to leave if you don’t want to! The access to the hiking trails over the cliffs is convenient and you can walk to many beaches either direction. There is a beach 2 minutes away by car with a parking area and restaurant/bathrooms. Food at the property is not included, but we ate there twice. We stayed in a two bed apartment, but there are other options.

Rocha Brava Village Resort is a spacious and affordable option on the Algarve coast, though it comes with a few quirks worth knowing about before you book.
The accommodation itself is a genuine highlight. You essentially get a two floor house with a balcony, which feels generous compared to a standard hotel room and gives you plenty of space to spread out. That said, the balcony chairs were in poor shape during our stay, visibly dirty and covered in bird droppings, which was not a great first impression. The bathroom also had an unpleasant smell that was hard to ignore.
One thing to be aware of is that almost everything here comes at an extra cost. Towels for the pool, pickleball, tennis, it all gets added on. Room cleaning also only happens every two days. None of this is a dealbreaker, but it can catch you off guard if you are not expecting it. Factor those extras into your budget when planning and you will not be surprised.
On the plus side, there is a wonderful hiking trail on the property with a stunning view of Sagres Point that alone makes the stay memorable. For the overall price point, the resort offers solid value as long as you go in with realistic expectations about what is and is not included.

A spacious resort. Positioned well between pretty coves and cliff walks. Nice outdoor pools and the warmest indoor pool we’ve ever tried. Rooms variable but seem OK to good.
