RG Village Hotel is a fascinating place if you’ve ever wondered what happens when “all-inclusive” is treated as a creative writing exercise.
The area is lovely, and the bar and restaurant staff were genuinely friendly and hardworking. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the management and reception team, who often seemed annoyed that guests existed at all.
Several things advertised before arrival had mysteriously disappeared by the time we got there, and there always seemed to be another little charge waiting around the corner. “All-inclusive” comes with more terms and conditions than you’d expect.
The evenings were very quiet, with little entertainment or much to do. My personal highlight was paying extra for a late checkout and then being told my suitcase couldn’t be left where the security camera could see it and had to be hidden around the corner instead. An interesting approach to security.
Overall, the location deserves far better than the hotel. It felt like a business focused on extracting every extra euro while providing the bare minimum in return. I won’t be returning, and I’d recommend others read the reviews carefully before booking.

We visited Rimondi Grand Resort in September as a couple and had a wonderful experience.
The hotel is beautifully maintained, with lovely surroundings and a calm, relaxing atmosphere – perfect for a peaceful getaway.
Our room was clean, comfortable, and had a beautiful view.
The staff was extremely polite and always willing to help.
The food was of very good quality, with a nice variety of options and delicious flavors. We especially enjoyed the spa and the pool area, which were quiet and ideal for relaxation.
We would definitely choose this hotel again for a romantic escape!
Thank you

So weve just returned from our holiday.
First of all we'd like to say ALL the staff were great! We had absolutely no issues with any staff, including reception where the girls were lovely.
Its almost a 2hr bus trip from the airport. HIRE A CAR!!!! you will NEED IT!!!!
So first of all the shocker of the tourist tax with an upfront £100 cash payment on arrival.... the hotel is 'classed' 5*...
(The 5* only has to recognise what they have on site, ie gym, spa, shop, pools etc)
Our room was a 3* at best. Nice view. Good placing (considering the hills) unfortunately our bathroom smelt like a sewer as soon as you went in.
The hotel is so far out there are no shops, bars or restaurants in Walking distance. I dont know how anyone on half board or self catering would manage and no pre-warning offered at reception.
We only found out on day 2 of the bus trips to 'the beach'...(we walked the 1hr to the beach which was a 💩hole, and found a used condom on the beach) we didn't stay and never ventured that way again...
But we also found out they had a bus to the main resort of rethymeyno which cost €11each , but it was fully booked up, we only managed to get on the bus on day 5 and 6... we were starving ( fed up of all inclusive day 2, foods poor) otherwise a taxi was around €45 one way, so a trip to town would literally cost just under €100..
We thought as an all inclusive resort that regular shuttles should be regular and free to ALL guests, regardless off their packages.. and nothing was pre mentioned by the hotel or easyjet prior to our stay.
No entertainment on the resort whatsoever. Same droll music played by the pool, then when we went to the bar in the evening, they played a depressing Adele album which killed the holiday vibe.
No all inclusive restaurants to choose/book/ dine in. Bored with all inclusive by day 2.
No kids menu.
No ice cream
No snacks
No burgers no fries...
Boring buffet day after day, I filled my bowl to feed the cats and lost weight last week.
Drinks quality very poor. No shorts, vodka etc before 7pm. Beers poor low quality, avoid the wine and cocktails are made from a machine and poured into a plastic cup...
No milk available in rooms for coffees, but we are given a litre bottle of water on arrival and are advised on fill up points around the resort!
The chill out area around the main bar pool is very nice, but at certain points, there's a pungent smell of sewerage coming from under the bar/hotel area, when most people exited the area.
Its a shame, the hotel is apparently advertised as 'peaceful ' unfortunately I left it to my husband to book and read the reviews on day 2.
Theres absolutely nothing around the hotel, you will be stuck there or need a vast amount of money for taxis to get out of there.
I came home with an eye infection and a chest infection on what was meant to be a relaxing holiday.
The hotel could do so much better but are extorting fares on what should be regular shuttle rides to the main towns due to lack of anything at the hotel.
Very dissapointing stay tbh.
Wouldn't recommend for kids, elders, youngsters or couples.
We missed the opportunity opportunity a to hire a car at the airport and that was a grave mistake.

We’ve stopped here twice and really enjoyed both times. If you want a quiet and relaxing place away from the city, this is definitely it. I will admit that it’s not for everyone (like a party kind of place) but if you are seeking the above, it’s hard to be disappointed. The location is a bit of a catch-22. On the one hand yes you are a bit far out which makes venturing out a little tricky (though very doable). However the advantage is that it’s quiet. The rooms were clean both times and the house keeping service (which you have to book online when you want a clean done) was always thorough and quality. The food seems to be a bone of contention but honestly we never had trouble. It does revolve around the same sort of thing each day but there’s always variety to be had and in the main the food is nice. The pools are also great - they are cold, yes, but when you’re in the sun all day they’re a welcome relief when you get in.
It is also worth remembering that 5 stars in the hotel world means its to do with the level of service the hotel can offer (like a spa, dry cleaning etc). The more services, the higher the stars. It’s a sprawling place and there is loads here. My only critic is that what they offer should be signposted more.

A lot of negative reviews so just to make it simple: this holiday resort is for those who want a quiet time on a remote resort with a nice pool and drinks away from worries from work..!!!
Pictures attached of food daily, the resort, pool, private beach..!
Now:
Nothing close enough to walk to. Free shuttle bus to their private beach that's about 15 mins away. Rethymnon old town is about 25 mins away and you have to pay. I paid 22 pounds for 2 people for a round trip but it might be more during tourist season. The shuttle bus in a van that can hold up to 8 people, so when the driver drops people off he comes back for the next batch. things to look out for: if you go during off tourist season, the times of the shuttle bus service are very different.
We also paid 115€ for the tourist tax and its cash only on arrival. Atm is right outside so no issues. The place is quite big.
If you go with young kids and you expect entertainment- stop being difficult, this is a holiday to relax. There isn't much around for kids, there is a kids pool and stuff but that's about it, pick a more appropriate holiday before leaving in a bad review.
Weather in April is super unexpected- the weather forecast said 23⁰ all week and we had a 4 day heavy rain track.
There is a mini market within the hotel. Like I said there is a private beach and its super rocky so I hurt my legs A LOT while swimming- I got out almost immediately from the pain.
One thing I didnt like was that the times for different services and bars/restaurants within the resort were not clear at all and we didnt get info on a sheet in our room. It was constantly asking the staff as times and prices kept changing depending on the season. Eg- ive been told shuttle bus to city was 9€ per person yet we paid less.. shuttle bus to the beach running from 11am till 6pm every hour wasn't happening and instead it was only 3 times a day if the weather was good.
For people complaining about there not being chicken nuggets- honestly grow up or book your own holiday you miserable person. If you want chicken nuggets go tesco and get yourself some. You are in a different country, on a 5 star resort, in an island. They work SO hard to cook all the varieties of food we get, there was all sorts of meats, pasta bolognaise nearly every evening and chips and salad and all sorts for everyone's taste! The dessert options were incredible as well.
That being said, yes it was lovely for a nice break away from the cloudy rainy UK, but no i wouldnt go back because of how remote it was for April off tourist season.
I suggest you go beginning of May at the earliest, without super young kids, and to just relax..!
