Great apartment, very clean and location is perfect just across the beach. The ladies at reception are really lovely, helpful and always smiling. The hotel is well connected to local buses to get you across the island and just opposite a good shop and restaurant

We had a lovely experience here at Portofino. Three friends, a one bedroom apartment that was spacious and clean. We had a double bedroom and a sofa bed in the lounge. They weren’t the comfiest beds but we only had 4 nights and we aren’t fussy. We had a sea view and balcony and the view was really spectacular. We didn’t get the sun on the balcony until the evening but it wasn’t an issue for us.
The hotel is minutes walk from the beach, with plenty of sunbeds. For 3 sunbeds and parasol we paid €26.50 for the whole day. It’s a beautiful beach with clear blue waters - a little chilly in late April but fine once you’re in! There’s two pool areas at the hotel and we spent a day by the smaller one as we didn’t have small children and didn’t need the children’s pool. It was reasonably quiet at this time of year but could see it being busier in the height of the season. Drinks from the pool bar were nice. We had cocktails and slushies.
We were in the first building at the top, floor 6, but we had access to a lift so no issues with that. We walked up the steps to the pool one day and it nearly killed us off but then we found a lift to the pool area too - thank goodness 😅
Some recommendations in the resort - Fat Sam’s is a fantastic place with lots of choice of food. The staff are lovely! Especially our new friend Liam. We ate here twice and could’ve easily gone again as there’s so much we wanted on the menu. The cafe in the hotel served lovely smoothies and the little ice cream/crepe shop next door was really good too and the friendliest guy serving us ice cream and crepes and iced coffees. The busier bar areas are only a half a mile walk - either across the beach or along the paths. We went to Daniel’s Corner and Coco Bay for drinks. We felt lazy one evening and grabbed a taxi back and it cost us €3.40 😂
We had an Indian at Door To India after hearing recommendations but personally wouldn’t recommend. The food was average, the staff were uninterested and bordered on rude and it was expensive and not worth it.
Very minor points about the room, we had a sewage smell most of the time. Again, we weren’t there often so we didn’t really care but if you are spending more time in the room it might be something you want to get checked out. There’s also only one mirror in the bathroom, no full length mirrors and nowhere else was there a mirror so three girls fighting over the mirror each day was comical! It didn’t affect our stay, we had a great time and we would definitely book to stay again. The staff we came across were always polite and friendly. Thank you Portofino 🫶

We stayed at Apartamentos Mallorca Portofino in Santa Ponsa and loved its unbeatable location—just steps from the beach and close to plenty of shops, cafés, and restaurants. It’s in a quieter spot at the end of the bay, so you get a nice balance of peace and convenience.
The apartment itself was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with a kitchenette, living area, and balcony. Mine had a great sea view, which made morning coffee extra special. The air conditioning was a lifesaver in the August heat, and the self-catering setup worked perfectly for a relaxed holiday vibe.
There are two outdoor pools—one gets more shade, which can be nice for cooling off, though sun-lovers might prefer the other. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the 24-hour reception made everything easy.
A few small downsides: Wi-Fi worked best in the common areas, not the apartment, and the hillside location means some rooms pick up traffic noise. But for me, the location and value more than made up for it.
If you want a beachside base with the flexibility to cook your own meals and explore at your own pace, Portofino is a great choice.
