Nixie Haas
A nice hotel overall but for us, lacks that 4* edge.
On the surface, this is a beautiful hotel. The reception is clean and tidy, the pool area is lovely with a decent amount of sun beds, one area which overlooks the sea. The clientele (end of Feb) was middle-older aged people, mostly couples who were all very quiet. We barely heard anyone talk around the sunbeds!
The room itself was good. Lovely balcony and view, large living space with a TV and kettle, toaster etc (self-catering). Air con in both living room and bedroom (albeit not that great).
Location is perfect. Right off the main strip at the top of the very steep hill, and next to the beach.
Lots of supermarkets in walking distance.
However, a few things niggled us, which at a 4* I wouldn't expect. The front door seemed to require a "knack" to open it, which we learnt after speaking to reception staff. We found the ladies at reception quite cold and unwelcoming. "Snooty" comes to mind.
The balcony door scraped along the floor, which was annoying and also left a mark on the flooring.
The bowls in the cupboard weren't exactly bowls, more like deep plates. Cereal with milk felt risky. Not great when you're self-catering.
The hand wash in the bathroom was broken, silly I know but frustrating - it also required a "knack". The paintwork in the room was more of a 2* standard also.
You also have to pay extras. The WIFI isn't free, unless you sit in the reception area only (doesn't work by the pool) and you have to keep getting a code to re-connect. You are given pool/beach towels but advised that if they need replacing, its €1 each time. I have been to plenty of 4 star hotels that offer the above for free, and had happy customers because of it.
The cleaning staff also bang around quite early, which was rather annoying.
Overall we had a great holiday, and the negatives of the hotel didn't ruin our trip but we will definitely try a different hotel when we return.

Had a great time here! Super quiet location and sparkling clean apartments. The kitchen was fully loaded with all you could need to cook a meal with, including some snazzy aprons!
The staff were excellent about removing towels from beds that people had placed early in the AM and didn't show-up for. There was always a spot available at 11AM (by the pool) which couldn't be said for other places! The other bed areas were a lot quieter, especially down by the round-beds. Those were hardly ever taken!

It's a great friendly place, really convenient for shops and restaurants, our apartment was on a hill so strong legs were needed, though I'm sure they have other places on the flat. The pool view is amazing.

Stayed here last week , whilst the location and complex is good , I have never met such uninterested staff , asked several times for a sea view upgrade and was willing to pay to be told all full , even until our departure 26th December rooms were free , filled in the initial survey and received an aggressive phone call two minutes later challenging my points so won’t be back based on staff attitude , on a positive note pool staff were great! reception staff need work plus having to pay for WiFi leaves a sour taste and didn’t notice these stains either , definitely not four stars
