We stayed at the Princesa Yaiza for 2 weeks at the end of June 2025. I read all the reviews beforehand and I would say the average review is accurate in my opinion. Having stayed at many hotels, I would describe this as a 4.5 rather than a 5L and it does feel tired in places although part of that is the rustic theme the hotel has gone for. The hotel really should address the towel situation by telling guests at check in and then having the pool managers actually enforce the rules. With all that being said, the staff were exceptional throughout. My daughter has coeliac disease and the hotel dealt with the situation admirably, particularly head chef, Raul. The location is also great.

Beautiful old colonial hotel, with every comfort and excellent service. However, I feel it is coming up for some refurbishment in the rooms, and the overhead bath shower is a disappointment in a 5* hotel, with pretty ancient, noisy aircon too. We were a party of 14 plus baby, and had to be up by 6.30 a.m. to secure any reasonable sunbed near the pool where we would be able to supervise the children. I walked along the front quite a few mornings at this time and didn't see any other hotel pools with such a bed scrum going on. Again disappointing for 5 star. I know it is mid July, and the hotel was busy, but we didn't expect to be stressed over not getting sunbeds by 8 a.m.
Overall Princess Yaiza is an imposing, grand hotel, and we enjoyed our stay here, but times and expectations change. To keep abreast of nearby competition, the new management team need to address a few issues to retain the original standards.

We had a great time at this hotel in February. On arrival, we organised a room upgrade and while we were waiting discovered the soft play area between reception and the restaurants, staffed by one of the animation team. The kids loved it and it set the tone for the rest of the wonderful holiday.
The kids club is fantastic, the best we've encountered as a family. It was sad for me to have to say goodbye to some of the staff who put so much love and effort into making the kids' time special.
The guest experience, reception and waiting staff were all terrific. The room was spacious, well maintained and we loved the style. The hotel facilities and food exceeded expectations and, the icing on the cake, the location is perfect for experiencing everything within Playa Blanca.
We would definitely come back again :)

We stayed here as a family of four in the second week of July.
We arrived after 8pm and were met at our transfer by a lovely man who took our bags , brought us to check in and brought us all refreshments.
When we arrived to our room which wasn't set up for us . We had booked a standard suite with garden view . The main bedroom had two single beds rather than a king size bed and the beds in the lounge area were not set up . I thought this was strange as the hotel knew we were arriving late and we had requested a king size bed .
We went to reception to discuss and they were unbelievably pleasant and accommodating. They had our bed changed before we got back to the room and housekeeping were fantastic throughout the rest of our stay.
Unfortunately our shower hadn't been cleaned properly before our arrival. There was hair on the shower wall .
We ate in the italian restaurant once which was average .
The Japanese food was beautiful and the service was great . The teppanyaki was a bit boring to be honest. Also you cannot order cocktails in this restaurant.
We had lunch in the pool bar several times and everything was perfect.
Breakfast was also perfect
The lobby bar staff are so pleasant and the atmosphere here in the evening is lovely and calm
The pool was disappointing, It's was very cold even my children were too cold and there was no atmosphere no music just a bit flat .
There is also a funfair within seconds of the hotel which the kids enjoyed .
The hotel is so close to the beach where you can rent loungers and get drinks and snacks at a little bar on the beach . We also did some water activities which were brilliant.
The food along the promenade was hit or miss and i feel the locals are fed up with tourists and not overly happy to serve you .
Overall our stay was great but we probably won't be back to this hotel

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Princesa Yaiza.
Everything about this hotel was perfect, from the decor and craftmanship all around to the wide variety of amenities.
We opted for B&B and the breakfast options were outstanding.
Location of hotel is perfectly situated between Marina and Harbour, so all other restaurants are within 10-15min walk at most, hotel restaurants also to a very high standard.
Excellent hotel for young families, there was always something to do for our two year old and all facilities were absolutely immaculate, everything is so well thought out here.
Not to forget, the staff are all extremely attentive and professional.
Already planning our return for next year!
