This is a sad, overpriced hotel. The staff is lovely, but not well trained. Our room had a bathtub that had mould. The balcony set up allowed neighbours to see inside the room. There are curtains, but as the balcony window is the only source of light, you need to choose between light or privacy.

Overrated Pousada. There are Pestana hotels for 1/3rd the rate doing better. Showerwater varies itself between 30 and 50 degrees evey few seconds. Upon reception we were taken to the restaurant for a drink. No clue why. After twenty minutes returning to reception we were told the room wasnt ready. Or they were not sure, cause housekeeping didnt reply. Returning to the restaurant and after in total 40 minutes we were fed up. Back to reception where they acted to see us for the first time. OFFCOURSE our room was ready! Our room appeared to be in a modern annex so not much of ambience for our € 200.00. You can definitely find yourself a nicer place for that money, for two or even three nights! AVOID.
The pool is unheated by the way and was a louzy 20 degrees cold. Maybe put that on your website?

We had a great time at this lovely hotel this mostly down to the warm and helpful staff and the beautiful building.
It's located a short 5 minute walk from the center of town which means you can see most of this lovely town has to offer (some great restaurants btw).
The rooms a really good, I couldn't quite give 5 stars becuase the bathrooms are a little dated compared to more built up areas and the TV did not support casting/streaming so the evenings can get a little bland after dinner. That said they were very well made and we had a wonderful view I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could.
We had the breakfast which had a good selection of continental options. We didn't stay for dinner so can't comment on that. We were also here in low season and due to the weather we avoided the pool area which looked nice for a lounge and dip.
The surrounding area is beautiful at this time of year with the browning trees and cobbled roads.
Overall, it's a strong reccomendation and we would stay here again in a heartbeat! 😃

Wonderful experience at the Pousada. Loved the superior room in the old part of the hotel. Breakfast is INCREDIBLE. Staff is lovely and the pool, even in November is a gem. Go there without a hesitation.

Lovely converted convent. We stayed in a suite overlooking the hills. Staff was wonderfully attentive. Food in the restaurant was delicious. Rate included breakfast.
A unique place to stay in Tavira for a few days. Walked everywhere. No car needed.
