The service was outstanding, and every staff member was friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The food was excellent, with a great variety of options to suit all tastes. We especially loved the many restaurants inside the resort, each offering a unique dining experience.
The animation team did a fantastic job keeping guests entertained throughout the day, and the evening shows and parties were always enjoyable and well organized. There was never a dull moment.
The resort itself is beautiful, well maintained, and offers breathtaking views. Every detail contributed to making our stay special.
In our opinion, this is one of the best hotels in Egypt. We created wonderful memories here, and we are already planning to return next year.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! It’s truly luxurious, clean, and beautifully designed.
The animation team was amazing — very friendly and entertaining, with great activities and evening shows. The staff were attentive and professional, always ready to help. I especially appreciated how they made my birthday special — such a thoughtful and memorable surprise!
The rooms were comfortable and well-maintained, and the food was delicious with plenty of choices.

An amazing hotel with great choice of restaurants, bars, relaxation areas. The food was excellent. We had a sea view room which was beautifully presented and cleaned daily. The staff were exceptional; friendly supportive and genuinely caring. I would definitely recommend it.

Reception & Hospitality
This was by far the weakest part of our experience.
Unfortunately, the reception and hospitality standards were below what I would expect from a resort of this caliber. Most staff members were not particularly welcoming and often gave the impression that they were annoyed when guests asked for assistance, especially at the beach bar. Very few employees smiled or made guests feel genuinely welcome.
Upon arrival, the receptionist did not provide a warm welcome, nor were we given any guidance about the hotel’s facilities, activities, restaurants, or general information. We were also asked to go to the reception office ourselves to collect our wristbands and receive information, while I noticed staff approaching foreign guests at their seats to provide bracelets and explain everything. This created an uncomfortable feeling of unequal treatment.
Another frustrating point was the room check-in process. We were repeatedly told that our room would be ready “in a few minutes,” only for the staff member to disappear without any update. Thankfully, I later met Shady, who handled the situation professionally. He apologized for the previous experience, arranged our room promptly, and even provided a complimentary room upgrade, which was greatly appreciated.
One strange thing was that the reception staff kept asking whether we booked directly through the hotel or through Booking.com. After mentioning that we booked via Booking.com, our wristbands were changed without any explanation, which felt odd and unnecessary.
Hotel Design & Facilities
The hotel itself is absolutely stunning. The design is unique, and the sea views are breathtaking—you can practically see the sea from almost everywhere in the resort.
There are numerous pools, plenty of activities, and the property is very spacious, making it easy to enjoy different areas without feeling crowded.
Rooms
Our room was very comfortable, clean, and enjoyable. While it is starting to show its age and could benefit from some renovation and modernization, it still provided a pleasant stay overall.
Entertainment & Safety
One concern was the beach fire show we attended. The performers were engaging in acts involving real fire, including burning their hands and bodies. While impressive, there was no prior warning or disclosure that the show contained potentially disturbing or dangerous content for children. Considering the large number of kids present, some form of advisory would have been appropriate.
Food & Restaurants
One of the highlights of the resort was the variety of restaurants and food options. There was a wide selection of cuisines and dishes that can accommodate different tastes and preferences, making dining enjoyable throughout the stay.
Overall
Pickalbatros Citadel is a beautiful resort with incredible architecture, amazing sea views, great facilities, and diverse dining options. It has the potential to be truly world-class. However, the hospitality culture and guest-service standards need significant improvement. With better staff training focused on warmth, professionalism, and guest experience, this hotel could easily become one of the best resorts in the region.
