Wonderful art deco hotel with real character and a sense of history. Staff generally friendly and attentive, if not quite the entire team at all times as advertised. The buffet food was reasonable, especially the breakfast. Cocktails were quite poor quality, air con in the bedroom didn't seem to work although we didn't report this as it wasn't hot enough to cause us an issue. The pool was cold and only open for a short time, and a couple of the advertised facilities didn't seem to be open potentially because we stayed at the end of April. Will definitely consider staying again

Absolutely loved this hotel, the staff, the location, the rooms and the food was superb. We visit this area every year and this is the best hotel yet, we stayed in the junior suites, it was fab, already booked for next stay. Thank you guys x

* Paid over 3.2k euros for 10 nights.
* The food was substandard.
* This is the only hotel I've ever stayed in that charges for drinks (including water) during dinner when you have paid for half board.
* Booked a junior suite and was horrified to find the bed was 2 single beds put together. They were easily the worst beds both my partner and I have ever "tried" to sleep in. Did not get one good night of sleep in 10 days.
* The air-conditioning switches off by itself every 2 hrs or so. This means getting up 2 - 3 times per night to switch it back on, which on top of the terrible beds makes sleeping literally impossible.
* You don't get any bottles of water in your room. You get a glass bottle that you have to fill downstairs. The machine to fill the bottle doesn't work half the time and throws water everywhere.
* Air-conditioning turning off frequently.
* Lack of bottled water in the room and a malfunctioning water-filling machine.
* An old TV with only Spanish channels.
* Disturbance from cleaners early in the morning.
* Poor staffing and untidiness in the "Gold lounge" for junior suite guests.
I don't give 1 stars easily but the fundamental reason you stay in a hotel is to sleep, so NO sleep means 1star. If I could give zero I would.

We loved our stay at the pez espada! The location is absolutely amazing you couldn't get any closer to the beach, bars and shops and close to the marina too. Rooms were lovely, not very spacious with a little one however didn't make any real difference we slept in it and that's all we need a room for as a Base. The food was nice and plentyfull the only thing tjat let it down was you couldn't really tell what many dishes were. They weren't translated but we never went hungry. The only thing letting the restaurant down was the rude staff. The first night were shouted down upon leaving as a waitress thought we hadn't paid for water. She was extremely rude and shouting at us when actually we didn't know you left the money on the table we'd took our money to the entrance of the restaurant. The staff around thr hotel were lovely just the odd rude staff member in the restaurant. Pools were great, splash pool absolutely freezing and a little bit grubby could of done with a hose down on an evening. The big pool was lovely and warm and our little one loved it. The lack of entertainment didn't really bother us for our little one she was happy to play independently but a little disco on an evening would of been nice unless all of that starts later in the year. Overall a great stay and would definitely book again!

We've been here 7 years in a row. Wonderful hotel, perfect location and great breakfast buffet. This is the first year I was not completely satisfied with the bar service, too many customers and not enough employees to cover both bars at the same time, but the served us with a smile, were helpful and friendly. All in all a 98% to the hotel.
