We’re just about to return from a wonderful week at Pestana Blue Alvor Beach Hotel and wanted to share how much we enjoyed our stay. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. Everyone was professional, consistently friendly, and genuinely helpful with anything we needed. A special mention to Marijane, who was always smiling and willing to help,her positive attitude made a real difference to our stay.
The food was consistently good throughout the week, fresh, well prepared and full of flavour. There was plenty of choice, and the drinks selection was equally satisfying. Whether it was a relaxed lunch or an evening meal, everything was well organised and easy to enjoy.
The location makes a real difference. Being right on the beach meant we could step straight onto the sand, and the ocean views from the hotel are amazing at any time of day. Even in February, we were lucky with warm weather, and the beach was clean and well kept, which made daily walks especially pleasant.
Overall, we had a lovely experience and are already planning to come back. It’s a place we would confidently recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable beachfront stay with attentive service and a welcoming atmosphere. Thank you Pestana Blue!

My stay at the hotel was really nice. The hotel has very nice sea view rooms which I bought. It’s facing the sea and the swimming pool. The hotel has a path leading to the sea front as well which is a nice walk. The food here is amazing, lots of different fishes for lunch and dinner everyday. I came here in January which is not the main season. So it’s not as busy but it’s quite nice in a way for me as I needed something quiet. Kudos to the internment team Teresa, Miguel who are very bubbly and friendly. They made us feel entertained and welcomed. Olena at the bar was very friendly serving drinks as well. Overall it’s a very nice place to stay. I’d highly recommend the place and would certainly consider coming back again

Booked this hotel at the last minute as our previously booked holiday fell through, so as such we hadn't done a huge amount of research. Feel like we've been so lucky as it's been such a great time and the hotel is excellent.
The hotel is modern, with good amenities (two outdoor pools and one indoor heated pool) and is so well positioned near the beach and with lovely walks down to the nature reserve and into Alvor.
The animation team have been excellent - although it is off season so the hotel is relatively quiet they are still enthusiastic and we have enjoyed an aqua gym class and evening entertainment.
All the staff are very friendly and polite, and overall the stay has been excellent so far.

Great for a little quiet respite from gloominess of UK weather in March. Very quiet though, 92 residents in hotel that has capacity for 1200 odd. So gotta bring your own vibes. Plus side to that is that pool, sauna and steam room never too busy and in the morning we had whole place to ourselves. Lots of lovely outdoor pools, which would really nice when summer rolls around.
Only on our 2nd day here but had a very entertaining day today with the animation team and they deserve a shout out! Jonathan and Miguel absolute jokers. Who knew Jenga and Petounc could be so competitive!
Ruben and Ines on reception super helpful in sorting out room mix up and giving us free upgrade, so we had more space.

We arrived at the Pestana Blue Alvor Beach a little earlier than expected after a long drive, and the reception lady was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They had our room ready for us and even ensured we could head straight to lunch, which was very much appreciated.
While checking the entertainment board, we were warmly greeted by Miguel, who took the time to personally welcome us and explain everything that was happening during our stay. Miguel was outstanding. Although the hotel was out of season and there were fewer children around, he made a genuine effort to ensure every guest felt special and included.
We thoroughly enjoyed the quizzes and evening games. Even when the hotel was quiet, Miguel and Jonathan still brought fantastic energy and plenty of laughs. Regardless of whether it was just two families participating, they made every activity fun.
We would also like to mention Iris, Fabio, and Jonathan from the entertainment team and of course, a special birthday mention for Miguel!
Also the team for the indoor pool were very helpful and friendly.
If you have young children, we highly recommend feeding the fish at the pond each morning with the kids’ club. It’s such a lovely way to start the day and creates special memories for the little ones.
A beautiful, friendly, family oriented hotel we truly enjoyed our stay.
