We recently stayed at Pestana Blue Alvor as a family of five and had the best experience ever!
From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed and cared for especially thanks to Joana Faustino, who truly went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. Joana showed incredible professionalism, warmth, and genuine kindness in every interaction. Her communication was thoughtful, clear, and always timely. It’s rare to meet someone who connects so naturally with guests while upholding the values and high standards of a place like Pestana Blue Alvor. She made a real difference in our experience, and we’re so grateful for her care and attention.
Beyond Joana, every staff member we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and committed to making our stay special. You can tell this resort values service and hospitality at every level.
As for the resort itself, it’s beautiful, clean, and thoughtfully designed. There is truly something for everyone, but it’s especially perfect for families with young children. The variety of activities kept our kids entertained and happy the entire time.
Our stay was not only comfortable but truly memorable and we’re already looking forward to coming back, knowing such wonderful people work here to make each guest’s experience so positive.

Pestana Blue Alvor – Family-Friendly Resort with a Few Drawbacks
We recently stayed at Pestana Blue Alvor and overall had a good experience, especially traveling with kids. The hotel is extremely family-friendly, with loads of activities to keep children entertained all day. The pool area is fantastic, and the property is within walking distance of the beach, which was a big plus.
Rooms are air-conditioned and comfortable, though some areas, like our bathroom, felt a bit dated and could use an update.
Food was generally fine—nothing remarkable, but in line with what you’d expect from an all-inclusive. However, the coffee was pretty terrible. If you care about your morning coffee, you might want to venture out or bring your own.
One of the most frustrating aspects was the elevator situation. During peak times, you could easily wait up to 10 minutes to get in one, even though there are four lifts—most were constantly full.
On the positive side, free parking and charging ports for electric vehicles were very convenient.
If you’re traveling with kids and want an easy, activity-packed resort near the beach, this is a solid option, but be prepared for some small inconveniences.

We truly enjoyed the atmosphere, the friendly staff, and the excellent service — everything felt warm and welcoming.
One of the highlights of our holiday was at the hotel restaurant, where the team surprised us with a beautiful performance of an Italian song — such a lovely and heartwarming moment!
A special thank you to Mr. Carlos, the manager, for his professionalism and hospitality, and to all the staff who made our stay memorable.
I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely come back again!

I recently returned from a lovely stay at the Pestana Hotel in Alvor and overall had a really enjoyable experience. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating throughout, which made a great first impression.
The pool area was beautiful, clean, and perfect for relaxing—and it’s just a short 5-minute walk to the beach, which was a huge plus. One of the standout highlights was the Bubble Bar in the evenings, which offered live music every night in a really lovely setting.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that all the spirits included in the drinks package were branded bottles, which is quite rare for all-inclusive hotels. It definitely added a premium touch to the experience.
That said, there were a couple of hiccups. Unfortunately, I was stuck in a lift for 45 minutes, which was quite a stressful experience. The next day, there was a power outage (understandably out of the hotel’s control), but we had a dinner reservation that wasn’t rebooked for us once power was restored, which was a bit disappointing.
As for the food, it was generally what you’d expect from an all-inclusive resort. However, I did feel that the selection was limited, with a heavy focus on fish (around 70%) and very few chicken dishes available. More variety would have been appreciated.
Despite the minor issues, I had a great time and would definitely recommend the Pestana Hotel for a relaxing getaway. With a few improvements, it could easily be a 5-star experience.

We had a fantastic stay at the Pestana Blue Alvor Hotel! The location is absolutely perfect—just a short stroll to the beach, with beautiful boardwalks that lead into town. The scenery is breathtaking, especially during the early morning beach walks.
The food was consistently excellent—fresh, beautifully presented, and full of variety. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home from day one. A special mention has to go to our cleaner (of room 603) and entertainment team who truly went above and beyond—Teresa in particular was amazing, bringing such positive energy and enthusiasm every day.
This place is the perfect mix of relaxation and fun in a stunning setting. Highly recommend!
