Booked a weekend getaway break to Malta via a travel agent for my daughter's birthday recently.
I had a seaview apartment (beautiful sight to Behold 🤩 🌊)
Shout out to my travel agent (Tele Adewusi of Inteletravel) for booking this amazing Hotel and organising cabs to and from the Hotel etc. It made our trip stressless 😉.
One of the best weekend ever! 💯.
See below for details:
Pros:
~ All the staff i made contact with were friendly, attentive, respectful and helpful. They went above and beyond to provide high quality customer service.
Shout out to Francine and Monica (at the reception), they were super amazing and deserve awards for excellent customer service 🏆🏆.
~ Clean environment 🏨
~ Cave restaurant serves delish meals 😋🥗🍜. I had dinner delivered to my room on a busy Friday night and the service was top notch. Shout out to Amin!👊🏽
~ Seaview apartment highly recommended.
~ Lovely pool/ Jacuzzi and Sauna facilities🏊🏽♀️. I enjoyed all of it to the max perhaps because it wasn't that busy for the time of the year I booked.
~ The best part of my stay was the massages 🤩.
I highly recommend getting a massage at the Nataraya Day Spa & Wellness within the Hotel.
They offer a variety of massages to choose from.
One of the best I've had in a long time! 💆🏽♀️ 👌🏼.
A big shout out to Allen and Jacob!. They deserve 5 stars ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️ because they both did a fantastic job. I couldn't resist adding them to my review (with their consent).
Cons:
~ Slight smell in toilet area but it wasn't that bad.
Overall, I had an amazing time here and will highly recommend 💯.

didn’t like the hotel that much as a spa hotel. It should at least have a proper pool or sauna, but what they had was too small and always full of kids. It wasn’t a peaceful spot to relax, and there wasn’t enough space for everyone to enjoy. However, as a small hotel just for resting and staying in the north of Malta, it was okay. But for this price, it’s not a good option if your goal is to enjoy a relaxing spa experience. Also, the staff working there are not qualified to solve problems—they are amateurs and need proper training. As a solo traveler, I didn’t feel safe staying in a place like that

I can't rate this place highly enough! I was quite new to booking holidays and felt nervous about it but Pergola looked good online and so I booked for me and two friends to go away! It totally exceeded all expectations, really lovely hotel, great facilities, clean and attractive, such a calm and relaxing pool and spa area and a glorious space for treatments - it just felt so luxurious. The food was absolutely brilliant, huge range, different every night and great quality, great breakfasts too. The cave bar was very cool too!
The immediate local area was fantastic - the first day we had such a good time and realised we hadn't even moved 1km from the hotel - lovely local cafe and really interesting and beautiful places to see, with a sudden and unexpected incredible view over trees, a cathedral and the sea. But I think the thing that really made the holidat extra special was the people, both staff and other hotel guests :). It was a very friendly place, all staff from those behind reception, those offering treatments and those in charge of facilities went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We were only here 3 days and felt like staff knew us by the end of it and really cared that we had had a great time. Other guests were equally as respectful and friendly and in a short space of time we met a great bunch of people!
A very special thanks to Doreen and the head chef who every night greeted us so nicely and ensured we were having a great time.
Malta is an absolutely amazing place, definitely come and visit and definitely book this hotel!

One of the worst hotel “experiences” of our lives.
We booked a standard room with half board, which turned out to be basically a hole. The ceiling was about 2 meters high. The bathroom was so tiny that the two of us couldn’t fit in at the same time.
Half board didn’t include any drinks with dinner—not even water (which was not mentioned anywhere). So even for unlimited drinks or just a bottle of water, you had to pay extra.
Since we arrived late, we only noticed the next day that there was no hot water, just lukewarm—unsuitable for showering. On top of that, the power socket was sparking.
We reported this to the reception, where they told us there were no free rooms, but they would move us the next day once one became available. (In the meantime, we could shower in the SPA…). No compensation was offered.
In the new room (which was a higher-category pool view room), the bathroom window couldn’t be locked and was almost falling out of the frame. It’s visible in the photo.
They tried to make dinner varied, but it was so overcomplicated that the only proper food available every night was chicken legs or pulled meat.
Not a single evening went by where we could leave the table feeling satisfied or truly full.
The cave visible in the photos is actually a Cave Bar, not the dinner venue, and consumption there is charged separately.
The hotel’s facilities and overall conditions felt like a 3-star hotel at best. Last year we stayed at another 4-star hotel in Malta, and that was light years better.
Every single forint spent on the dinner was a complete waste of money.
For the last two evenings, we ate sandwiches instead, but on the final night, the cold cuts were frozen to the plate and couldn’t even be removed (we have a video of it).
At the SPA, the receptionist was only occasionally at her post, and the sauna shut down periodically, so we often had to wait until someone came to start it up again.
At the reception, Henrik was the only one who showed any willingness to help and genuine understanding—thank you for that.

Our room was great, the location and view was great, the staff were friendly and helpful. This hotel is a maze but you learn to get around eventually. Why the 3 stars breakfast was absolutely fine enough of everything I can’t think of anything else they could offer. The evening meals were poor (we were half board), the staff in the restaurant were veeeery slow. The cave bar offered beautiful views but beware their drinks and ice creams were double the price of the bars in town!!
