Terrible experience at this hotel.
At check-in, we were asked to provide a marriage certificate. As far as I know, this is not a requirement under Moroccan law, and it was never mentioned during the booking process. What made it even more uncomfortable is that this was only required from Moroccan guests, while foreign guests were not asked for any such document, which felt discriminatory.
Instead of taking responsibility, the reception asked us either to cancel the booking or to book a second separate room, even though they were the ones refusing to check us in. After a long and unnecessary discussion, they finally agreed to refund us.
I’ve traveled extensively and stayed in many hotels around the world, and this was a very disappointing experience especially considering this is a 5-star hotel, and that it happened in my own home country.

The stay exceeded expectations. The property is well-maintained, the staff operates with a high level of professionalism, and the service delivery is consistently on point. Rooms are clean, quiet, and optimized for comfort. Amenities are efficiently managed and readily accessible. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a reliable, hassle-free experience that justifies the spend.

This hotel has a spectacular settings. everything to be a 5 stars but not worth more than 4 stars. The problem is the staff and their inability to understand tourism and tourist expectations let's focus on details does it make sense to have five times the same things ? Does it make sense not to be aloud to drink coffee by the pool in the morning ? Does it make sense to have an unstable wifi network in the room and in the pool area ? Does it make sense to have to physically go to the spa to reserve a spot when being at the front desk ? Does it make sense to beg for a electric outlet to plug a computer? Does it make sense to have a drink with 90% ice on it ?It does not. Unfortunate as on paper it looked great.

We like the space and the comfort of the hotel. Also food is very good and with variety of local fresh optilns. At the same time location is good - quiet as not exacly in city center, but very close to the menara. And yes, staff is overloaded and sometimes takes time to react upon requirements, but they are always helping! With pleasure will will book Palm plaza for out guests for the tours. Disappointing Stay – Not Worthy of 5 Stars
Our experience at the Palm Plaza Hotel in Marrakech fell far below expectations for a 5-star property. Several issues contributed to our dissatisfaction.
Firstly, the restaurant service was unprofessional, with staff openly arguing in front of guests — a clear sign of poor management and lack of training. Even more concerning was the discriminatory treatment, where international guests were prioritized, while local Moroccan visitors were neglected.
Hygiene standards were also lacking. We frequently found dirty dishes and cutlery, and the food quality was repetitive and mediocre, with odd flavors suggesting unusual ingredients. Service outside the buffet was slow unless you were paying for extras.
In the rooms, although they were cleaned daily, towels were sometimes reused, and bathroom products were not replenished unless requested repeatedly, which was frustrating.
The pool area, though enjoyable in the morning, became dirty by midday. Worse, damaged tiles in the pool posed a safety risk, and the area was poorly lit at night, making it uncomfortable for families. There were also not enough sunbeds or parasols, and staff offered no solution.
The entertainment team lacked energy and creativity. Activities felt forced and repetitive, failing to engage guests meaningfully.
Surprisingly, even with the hotel director present, staff behavior remained disorganized, pointing to serious management issues.
In conclusion, this hotel does not meet the standards of a true 5-star establishment. Poor hygiene, mediocre food, inconsistent service, and weak leadership made for a disappointing stay. I’ve stayed here in the past, but the quality has clearly declined. I will not be returning and cannot recommend it to others.
Before we end our comment we would like to thank miss nadine from the guest relations team who has been a great listener to us during our stay. We thank you and appreciate you.
