🛎️ Check-in and Accommodation
We arrived quite early, and we were pleasantly surprised that the hotel allowed early check-in — a big plus, especially after a night flight. The room was spacious, clean, and everything worked properly. Housekeeping was done daily, both in the room and throughout the hotel and beach areas, which gave a nice feeling of cleanliness and care.
A small downside was that some towels had old stains, although they were still clean and usable. A deposit is required for beach towels, but it’s refunded upon return — the system works smoothly. The room also had a free safe, which is a great advantage compared to many lower-star hotels where this service is paid.
🍽️ Food and Dining
The restaurant staff left a very positive impression — service was excellent, 5 out of 5. The team is friendly, attentive, and quick to respond to any requests. The dining area is always clean and well-maintained.
As for the food itself, it was somewhat limited in variety. For a 5-star hotel, we expected a bit more diversity — many dishes were repeated daily at lunch and dinner. However, the food was always fresh, tasty, and nicely prepared. Fruits and desserts were available every day, and the drinks were standard for an all-inclusive package.
It’s worth noting that by the end of the season, not all snack bars were open, so it wasn’t always possible to grab something between main meals.
🏖️ Beach and Sea
The beach is one of the main advantages of this hotel. It’s wide, clean, and sandy, with an easy entrance to the sea. Cleaning is done daily, so there’s almost no litter or cigarette butts. The sea is crystal clear, and there were no jellyfish, which is a big plus compared to some nearby hotels. Sunbeds are comfortable, and there are enough for everyone, even during peak hours. The overall atmosphere is calm and relaxing.
🎾 Entertainment and Activities
The hotel offers billiards, bowling, mini golf, and tennis — however, all of these activities are paid, which is a bit disappointing for a 5-star resort. It would be nice if at least some of them, like tennis or billiards, were free of charge.
As for the animation, it was quite weak. It was clear that the season was coming to an end, and the animators seemed less motivated. Many of the listed activities were either postponed or didn’t happen at all. Their lack of enthusiasm slightly affected the overall impression, although it’s likely better earlier in the season.
🚕 Location and Surroundings
The hotel has a convenient location — it takes about 1–1.5 hours to walk along the beach to the city center, or you can get there by taxi for 10–12 dinars. There are some shops and cafés nearby, so you can easily go out without any trouble.
We highly recommend visiting the local market on Friday after 9 AM — it’s a colorful and lively place where you can buy souvenirs, spices, clothes, and local treats at good prices.
💬 Overall Impression
Overall, our stay at Nord Palace Hotel was very pleasant. The atmosphere is peaceful, the sea is beautiful, the beach is well-kept, and the restaurant staff is professional and friendly. There are a few minor downsides — repetitive meals, paid entertainment, and weak animation at the end of the season — but none of them spoiled our overall experience.
👉 We recommend this hotel for couples or families looking for a calm and comfortable beach vacation with a clean sea and relaxing environment.

Definitely not 5 star. Will give it a 3. The room are old. Hair all over especially in the bathroom. The staff are friendly. The Spa is good. Food was ok not the best and always warm never hot. PLEASE NOTE IT IS 2.5hrs transfer from the airport to the hotel .

For a 5-star hotel, the rooms are really bad. There is a door in my room that leads to the next room. So you can hear everything that happens in the next room. The hotel always has some events during the day for children and adults. Mostly there is loud music with which you follow the animators and dance. In the evening there is a show from 20 - 23 and the music is always the same in the style of children's techno music. So if you are looking for a room with a view of the sea, you will get one with a view of the stage. The food is not bad, it's the same for the 14 days I've been here. As for the beach, you will have to get up in the morning before 7 am to fight for a place with a deck chair. Here they expect a tip and it may happen that if you don't leave, they won't bring you towels and toilet paper. Yes, and most importantly, you can get a very bad room, but it's good that you can ask to change it with a tip, of course, or without.

Very bad hotel, starting from the stuff (the biggest disappointment) who is unfriendly, they only smile once they get a tip.
Then, very poor, monotonous, and shot animations. They encourage people to play for 2 min in darts just to have the picture to prove that the hotel and animations are amazing.
Additionally, the room terrible, poor and dirty.
The hotel has not been even touching the 5 stars sign.
At the end, at 2 am, they didn't even provide us with a sandwich when we had 2h to the airport.
I don't recommend this hotel, they don't care about Customers at all, they only care about themselves and tips.
To not to be dissaponited, avoid this hotel.

We stayed at Nour Palace in Mahdia, and unfortunately, it was a complete disaster. On the first day, the room we were given was dirty, full of ants, and had a balcony view blocked by two olive trees—you couldn’t see anything beyond them. They moved us to another room, but the rooms are not soundproof at all. As a result, we barely slept for six nights because of a neighbor who snored extremely loudly.
The restaurant was even worse: the food is mediocre, 85–95% repetitive with only one or two different dishes. When they serve grilled fish or meat, it’s often undercooked, with raw parts inside. On top of that, the dishes completely lack flavor, creativity, and are not enjoyable. Even the croissants at breakfast are mostly dry and not fresh. The service is nonexistent: the waiters don’t even look at you or offer anything, not even water. Without a tip, you will likely be ignored. Every meal, I had to go to the waiter myself and wait a long time just for a glass of water. Despite multiple complaints, nothing changed.
The pools and beach were equally disappointing. You can’t get a sunbed or lounge chair without discreetly paying the lifeguard or pool staff. If you ask normally, they’ll say none are available, all “reserved.” But if you slip them money, suddenly a spot appears—it felt like a black-market system within the hotel.
The only positive aspect of this stay was the lady at the reception: she was welcoming, professional, and had a big smile, which contrasted with the rest of the service.
Overall, this stay was a huge disappointment, and we absolutely do not recommend this hotel.
