Great location with nice rooms. Our room had a rooftop with chairs and lounge chairs for tanning. One issue was the moldy bathroom- no ventilation caused black mold. We were sick with upper respiratory infections by day four. Pool was nice and there is poolside service with food and beverages. The breakfast buffet is included and there’s a nice variety of food. The buffet included made to order omelettes the buffet also included fresh fruit, pastries, potatoes, mimosas, juices, meats, cheeses, pancakes, and more. There’s a fitness center. There’s also a kids play area. There is a golf cart that can take you around the facility by request. If you need an airport shuttle, please schedule it in advance because it’s not readily available upon demand the boardwalk is within walking distance. There is a liquor store within walking distance. There are many places to eat nearby.

Absolutely brilliant beautiful place to stay🙌.
Location was the best being flat to walk to the beach and bars whereas all of the hotels in the area are up higher, climbing steps. Lovely two storey hotel with great swimming pool. Rooms lovely with air con and kept very clean. Service great polite helpful staff. Food ..amazing. And the views from the restaurant are to die for... overlooking Marina and Estuary...so many beautiful boats passing by. My husband was in his element. We would definitely recommend and will certainly be back. Thank you for making our stay so great.

Just arrived back from a fantastic stay - staff all lovely and especially the buggy drivers who were all brilliant with our son who is a handful (Gabriel especially, he’s missing him already!). I can’t understand the negative reviews, yes breakfast is a bit of a walk from the furthest block which we were in but it was beautiful and we managed it with two toddlers in under 5 minutes. Breakfast was an amazing spread and the ladies on the omelette station were lovely. Also the bald man with glasses at breakfast and the pool bar (sorry didn’t get his name) but he went above and beyond with the kids. Pool was big, the kids loved it and had the pick of sunbeds. 2 minutes walk to restaurants/bars and a small hill to the main town - we pushed a double buggy up every day so nothing to moan about!! The cleaning ladies were also lovely and went above and beyond. I honestly wouldn’t regard the negative reviews, I would go again in a heartbeat.
On a side note I would request if you found our sons sheep teddy in room 004 can we arrange to return it please?!
Thanks so much!!

Have been here twice and i wanted to leave a positive review.
Hotel staffs are friendly and helpful
The cleaning ladies are also friendly and our room was cleaned daily
The room is well heated during winter with the air con (which is important for me)
The room is large but the yes a renovation might be necessary but am not really complaining
The breakfast is good in my opinion since i don’t eat much anyway lol , again it is actually standard breakfast so keep your expectations accordingly you will have a nice morning i guess :)
I do recommend this hotel if you visit Portimao and if you have a car.

Disappointed and Misled – Not a 4-Star Experience
Not one to leave a review but after this stay it felt only right to describe the experience. We recently stayed at this hotel, having chosen it based on its 4-star rating and the attractive presentation online, especially its location near the Portimão marina. Unfortunately, the experience fell well short of expectations.
The hotel is split into two sections — we were placed in the second part, which felt more like a separate budget annex than part of the main resort. It had only basic accommodation and a very small, outdated pool. To make things worse, we had to walk nearly 20 minutes every morning just to reach the breakfast area. This setup was poorly designed and incredibly inconvenient, especially for families or anyone with mobility concerns.
The hotel room itself was also badly thought out and very outdated. There were no normal drinking glasses or wine glasses provided, and the kitchen equipment overall was extremely limited and of low quality. We also found it disappointing that the water and drinks in the fridge were chargeable — yet there was no pricing anywhere to inform guests of the costs.
A much more serious issue, however, was with the water temperature in the room. All taps, including the shower, were running extremely hot water — even on the cold setting. After returning from a long, hot day out, having only scalding water available was not just uncomfortable but frankly unacceptable. When we raised this with the staff, we were told it was due to the weather — which we found quite hard to believe. We’ve travelled to hotter destinations and have never encountered a hotel that couldn’t provide basic cold water.
The parking situation was also frustrating. We were charged €50 simply for having a rental car, only to later discover that we were actually entitled to free parking — which felt disorganized and unfair.
The hotel is also not suited to families with children. There’s absolutely no entertainment, no family-friendly pool, and nothing really for kids to do. Even as adults, we found ourselves quickly bored with the limited facilities.
The location is okay if you’re particularly interested in the marina, but for anything else — beaches, restaurants, shops — a car is essential. Without one, everything is quite a distance away and not easily walkable.
Overall, this hotel does not live up to its 4-star rating or the way it’s portrayed online. It was a frustrating and disappointing experience, and I would not recommend it to families, or to anyone expecting the standard that’s advertised. This hotel is definitely not deserving of the 4 stars, and definitely pays for its misleading google reviews.
