Front desk told us take shuttle to beach and get discount on chairs & umbrella. Not so. Hotel Drop-off has pool but no beach rentals. Very frustrating because we would have made other route choices. You can go left to glass front building with tiki huts and rent 2 chairs & umbrella for $20 per day though. Everything else at hotel good till now. The balcony rooms are enjoyable but coffee brewers don’t work well.

Our stay at the NH Marina was on all aspects outstanding, the service we above expectations. The staff was attentive to all our questions and demands. Overall the stay was one to absolutley remember as one of our best stay in Portugal. The staff's attention to details and the provision of an absolutley dedicated service is acmarked difference of this Resort from others.
Particular attention to assisting the environment with their internal program offered to clients (which we joined) who are willing to assist in reducing the environmental impact by agreeing not to change the sheets, not to wash and chang towells every day is a first of its kind we have seen in all our world wide travers, congratulations is a must.
It is difficult to name and one in particular without missing one so we can affirm that all the staff well deserved a 5* +.Thank you very much

NH Marina Portimão Resort in Portimão, Portugal is one of those ‘resorts’ that look good from a distance, but the rest is mediocre. It is NOT a luxury all-inclusive self-contained resort where one might go, and stay in. I don’t know why they called themselves a resort. It is not. My fellow tour group members say it look like a Motel 6 (USA reference).
The lobby looks good. The outdoor pool looks good from a distance. The surrounding borders are falling apart. Walking into our room, it is very dated and clearly has not been updated for a long time. That microwave has analog turn dials; the last time I saw one like that was with my elderly in-laws, when they were still working, over twenty years ago. A random extra bed is in the room, which they retrieved. The furniture is old and with a sagging mattress, visible in the photo. The bathroom is outdated with an after-market update of rain-shower. Hey, at least the TV is flat screen, not a CRT.
The morning breakfast was a highlight with good varieties and good fruits though the coffee was watery.
Our group was out sightseeing away from the room from 8:30am to nearly 4pm. The room was still not cleaned when we return. The front desk took us that is normal, that they start at some other part before reaching our area. Our tour manager gave them an earful, and they confessed they are short on staff. Why lie about it?

The apartment room was very spacious and location close to the marina and beach is a bonus.
They had very friendly and helpful staff... knowledgeable about the various things to do with kids and always willing to help .
The buffet breakfast and dinner were amazing 😍

Rooms average, maintenance could be a lot better.
Staff were mainly excellent.
Beautiful resort, very relaxed, exterior as beautiful as the photos.
Shames pools are not heated.
Breakfast was average, range relatively limited, taste below par.
Buffet dinner was good in some places (for example, excellent starters one day, disappointing desserts another). Choice was relatively limited, but there were always a variety of meat and fish dishes (not much choice for vegetarian mains). Disappointed that soft drinks were not included!
