This place is so beautiful with very kind staff. The quality of the rooms is moderate; flickering lights, broken closet doors, extractor fans that don’t work (hence the bit of most built up on the grout). Also the coffee is a mini bar extra, and very expensive at that for some nespresso pods. But the bed and linens are quality, the sound proofing is good, and the views are excellent. Again, the staff are top notch and very accommodating. The best thing about this place is its fabulous restaurant! The food is exemplary! I stayed around the resort painting most of my time here and the food, staff, and marina side location really made it feel worth the price. The room, not so much.

Good:
Breakfast buffet is huge and has a lot of options, both healthy and unhealthy. TV had English options. Pool is a great size although not very deep and ice cold, but very good for swimming. Close to the Praia da Rocha beach and the marina. Room was huge.
Can be improved:
The pool is very salty/chlorine and it hurts your eyes. Breakfast does not open until 7:30. Staff was friendly but didn’t offer proper help when arriving by car — they told us there was free parking but refused to say how to get there (it was just next to the hotel but had an entrance further away) because they wanted us to pay for their parking (10 euros per day). TV was small. They gave us a card to fetch towels in the reception instead of just giving them to us straight away when we checked in?? No shops nearby to buy snacks. There was no trash bin in the room, we had to put the trash bag in it ourselves.

Stayed here with a group. Upgraded my room to an apartment for ♿️ accessibility. There is only one ♿️ parking spot in the car park which has a metal pole exactly where you open your door 🫣 perhaps not planned well but be aware when parking.
The hotel/ resort is a nice airy and open layout perfect for me with allergies. The room was big and in great condition, television big with many premium channels. Beds are very hard and caused me numbness, not an uncommon problem in hotels in the Algarve so I assume normal for the area. Breakfast was quite possibly the most comprehensive spread of types and styles of breakfast. Beyond ten out of ten for this. The onside restaurant made potentially life threatening errors with my meal relating to my severe allergies, I couldnt eat the meal I was served or the side dishes and the kitchen has no allergy protocol for severe allergies. Theu even served my main with one of my worst allergens proudly atop the dish after 15 minutes ensuring this cannot and would not happen. I drove to Lidl in the end for food.the apartment had very limited accessories for the kitchenette, no saucepans or pots to cook with dispite there being a hob.
The views from the room, the bar and the restaurant are fabulous but the lack of care in the kitchen has left a bad taste, for want of a better term. If you're a normal non faulty human this place is great for the price point. If you need extra care to stay alive, probably not the place for you.

We had a great time at the NH Marina Portimão Resort.
It is a huge hotel, but we were lucky to get a room around the pool, on the ground floor, 10 steps from our tanning chairs.
a Short walk to the huge beach, and to Av. Tomás Cabreira, for all the restaurants and bars.
The pool is huge, with sea salty water.
Nice basic gym, great breakfast overlooking the Marina.
We had a late flight and had the option for a late check out.
We will be back.

Fine hotel, reception and staff are serviceminded - even arranged for a lunch box as we had to leave early for the airport. Nice view from the marina rooms over the harbor. A short walk or ride to the main pool or beach. Uber is cheap to go to the city center. Downsides breakfast omelet and scrambled should be made from real eggs, but nice fresh fruit. Rooms are a bit loud and you can hear your neighbors clearly. But they were clean and the bed comfortable.
