Back from a fabulous week in Tavira staying at the Maria Nove Lounge. I would highly recommend this beautiful hotel. Beautiful clean and modern rooms. The pool is beautiful and the pool bar has a great celebration of beers, ciders and cocktails. We went to the roof top bar a couple of nights and the staff were so friendly and attentive. Try the frozen margarita delicious! Breakfast is lovely with a wide collection of options. Although we missed our welcome drink to the hotel but were kindly gifted a bottle of wine after our stay! This holiday was one to remember and the team and Maria Nova have contributed to our wonderful holiday.

Great hotel with excellent location to the town centre with its restaurants etc. Breakfast was great with a wide selection. My only criticism is that people using the pool area disappear for a few hours leaving their towels on the loungers thus preventing other guests that arrive to have a lounger. Some hotels that I have stayed in have started adopting a system where the lifeguard makes sure that people leaving, take their belongings there allowing other guests to take advantage of the loungers. If they don't return within a set time their stuff is put to the side allowing guests to use the lounge.

Just returned from a 4 day stay at this hotel.
Pros
- Hotel conveniently located just up a slight hill from the river and main town centre.
- Staff were all super friendly, polite and helpful.
- Rooms were small and basic but perfectly fine. Shower worked well.
- Outdoor main swimming pool was lovely and clean and the temperature was perfect.
- Breakfast was great, lots of options and well stocked. The pianist was a lovely touch.
-Nomad bar was great in terms of service, food and quality and has lovely views over Tavira.
Cons
- Gym was quite small (if you're into the gym)
- Pool bar food was ok, nothing special.
- Sunbeds could do with an update.
- Pillows were too soft and lumpy.
NB - There is a small building site opposite the hotel which wasn't overly bothersome to be honest. The hotel had made a note of this on their website however, I booked through Booking.com and wasn't aware of this until we arrived.

We stayed for 10 nights with EasyJet Holidays on a B&B basis. The location is excellent, right in the centre of Tavira. Breakfast offered plenty of choice, though it would benefit from a daily refresh as the options became repetitive. The towel system works well, with a €10 deposit per towel and daily exchanges available. Hairdryer in room works well. We found it easier to buy bottled water from a nearby shop and store it in the fridge, as the pool bar price of €3.50 per bottle felt expensive.
On arrival, we were welcomed with a glass of wine and luggage storage, and the reception area gave a very good first impression with its modern design. Unfortunately, this standard was not reflected in the pool facilities or our room.
The pool area could be better maintained. Pigeons often landed nearby and even in the pool, and the unused pool bar had visible mess that needed cleaning. The flooring showed weeds growing between the slabs, with cigarette ends left behind sunbeds. The smaller pool needed attention, and many sunbeds and parasols were worn and difficult to use. The parasols in particular were very heavy and awkward to move, which made it less relaxing than expected. The pigeons did not make me want to enjoy the pool facilities.
Our room had several issues, though these were addressed after speaking with the manager. On the first night, the power cut out and the emergency light came on at 3am, following an earlier disturbance from the recycling van at 1am. Rooms at the front corner of the hotel are especially affected by this noise. In the bathroom, we found mould in the shower and limescale in the toilet. The balcony door did not lock on arrival, but this was repaired once reported, although the door itself still appeared in need of further attention. The mattress was very firm, which made it difficult to sleep comfortably, and we also found ants under the bed, highlighting that the floor had not been thoroughly cleaned. Once removed, the ants did not return. TV remote never ever been cleaned by the looks of it.
Overall, the hotel benefits from an excellent location and a welcoming reception area, but maintenance and consistency across facilities let it down. With improvements, it has the potential to be a much more enjoyable stay, but as it stands, it did not live up to its advertised 4 star standard and I have no doubt there are more enjoyable, well-maintained hotels in the area.

A lovely hotel with amazing staff. So friendly from initial reception to all the waiting staff. Very tasty breakfast with lots of choices. The only comment i would make is the pool sunbeds really need to be replaced they are not comfortable and most are in serious need of replacing.
