We have just come back from a week's holiday at this hotel. Rooms are spacious, shower was good. Cleaners were fantastic, they did a really good job, cannot fault them at all. I cannot comment on the food, as we never eat there. There is so much choice along the beach and also down some of the back streets around old Los boliches, that we usually ate out. Hotel is in a fantastic location, cross the main road (crossing very close to hotel), cut through the walkway and you are next too the beach. It literally took us less than 5 minutes to get too the beach. This hotel is in such a great location, train station close by. All in all this hotel suited us down too the ground. Do not read the negative comments of other reviews, a holiday is really what you make it. Thank you hotel mainare playa.

Where to start. Firstly this hotel is not 4star, we have travelled extensively and this hotel is barely two star. On a positive, the rooms are spacious but with very little furniture, the hotel is very clean generally and the staff are all very friendly and accommodating. That said, there is virtually no lobby as you would expect in a 4 star hotel. There is no gym and just one pool table which is the sum total of the entertainment on offer. The pool is very clean and with a minimum of chemicals in it to make swimming pleasant, but the grounds are very limited in size. The hotel is on a motorway which means if you have your bedroom window open at night the traffic noise is constant till about 1 am. The breakfast is good with a good choice although served cold. There is a microwave available to heat up your full English ( no fried tomatoes or mushrooms). The evening meal is virtually beyond description with ham and cheese sandwiches a regular offering. The selection is repetitive, thoughtless and limited. Examples are a lettuce leaf with sliced garlic on it, mechanically reformed beef slices which you can push your finger through, daily soup which is the same watery consistency, colour and flavour every day (with a different daily name), small square slices of fish with a topping and much more I can’t be bothered to name. For pudding if you like plain jelly, angel delight and tinned fruit with very small squares of cheap cake you will be in heaven. No fresh fruit was on offer ( bananas, apples etc) although occasionally there was pealed oranges ( so you can’t take them to your room to eat later) and sliced kiwi. My advice therefore is to go B and B and eat out at the many restaurants on the sea front which would be cheaper too. My main complaint apart from the above is that this is NOT a four star hotel. We looked at several real four star hotels in the area and they were a totally different class. I hope this review proves useful to you.

We stayed for a week in September, room is large, however could have maybe a sofa and more power points, nice large balcony tho.
We paid for a Lateral view but on arrival is was a side sea view.
Nice location 5 minutes to beach, however busy road in between, small pool which was cold, but nice lounging area.
The food I have to say was awful, every meal we had which was breakfast and dinner was not even warm, the girl said use the microwave..REALLY??..On dinner menu one night there was chicken nuggets!!..COME ON REALLY??..
Also on the dinner menu was ham and cheese sandwiches...I give up!!
In my experience this is not 4 star, but 3 star(just)..
Nice area and beach but will not be back ,goodbye.

Just home after staying a week here at Mainare Playa Hotel
Fuengirola. The rooms are spacious and basic, good sized balcony, you have a small fridge, good size beds (although extremely hard, I found them uncomfortable for my back), air con, personally because there is so much space, they could have more drawers to store your clothes, but that is just my opinion. Would recommend bringing a few hangers, they have 6 per room.
We had a sea view, which was more of a slit of the beach between two other hotels, but was nice regardless. This hotel is beside a busy road, we left our balcony door open for fresh air and the noise of the cars is loud. In saying that, once you easily cross the road by the lights right outside the hotel, you are 3 mins from the beach, and it is lovely, I think it is the best area of the beach too. Other areas where very rocky in the water, also to rend a bed on the beach was €6.00 pp. Bargain for the day.
Back to the hotel! Breakfast was lovely, freshly made omelets, pancakes or churros, alongside fresh watermelon and options for a warm breakfast too. Great start to the day and breakfast was served until 11am! The pool doesn't open until 10.30am, we prefer the beach, but we generally saw eager awaiting children for it to open.
The hotel is clean, staff are friendly. I do need to mention WiFi. It was terrible, our room on the third floor barely received connection, annoying as I relied on it.
Along the beach front, 5 mins from the hotel, there is a shop to buy water etc. The train station is a 10 min walk away, and you are close to a route along the mountain. It's a good few hours walk, it was lovely.
You are close to lots of lovely restaurants and bars, Oscar's bar was great! You are between 15-20mims from the centre of Fuengirola. Look out for Churros and noodles, absolutely amazing!
