Just stayed for a week at Luz y Mar. From the moment we arrived which was at 18.30 there were no reception just a key in and envelope with my name on it stuck to the door. Walked in to the apartment to a strong smell of foist. Apartment was very dated, had a small TV that was on a table, the wooden sofa had a approximately 3 inch thick cushion on it, not comfy at all, the cover had a big stain on it, the balcony door dragged along the floor when you opened it. We arrived on the Friday, a guy came on the Monday and just give us clean towels and went, did not see any staff to clean the room or change the sheets and take the rubbish. We had the same towels all week. No security at all, no reception after 7pm to control any problems and so had to listen to a family screaming at each other. The receptionist during the day was miserable and had a bad attitude with anyone who needed assistance. Could continue to go on but that's enough. Would never go back there again.

Pleasantly surprised. This place isn't the RITZ, but everything works, everything is clean, the location is perfect, and there's a real friendly community around Kathy's bar staff. We were greeted by a lady named Maureen who showed us where to find the key (we were late checking in so they leave it with your name outside reception). Kathy's bar makes the resort, and the staff are super friendly and great with kids. The Lidl is less than 5 mins walk and it's a 15 mins walk downhill to the main strip and old town. There are 3 or 4 bars outside the resort that sell nice food and drinks at a reasonable price. We're likely going to go back.

I've been to the island more times than I can remember and this was the first time I had stayed here. On my arrival I was greeted by such a friendly lady on reception who explained everything very clearly and made the check in and out process very simple/smooth. Many thanks to her.
The room I had was a good size for both of us who were only really there for the shower and sleeping as we went out the entire time. The times we spent at the complex we used Kathy's bar, this was perfect for tasty food throughout the day and drink when required. Thanks to all her team.
The only thing I would say is there is a bit of noise from doors slamming in neighbouring apartments, this is not a dig at this place, it's the same all over the island and a little bit of foam around the door frames would help this. It's not a major problem and certainly will not stop me from looking to stay here again in the future. Good location in-between old town and the beach.

Amazing stay made only better by Kathy, Maureen, Chloe and Emma (and husband). Would definitely go again rooms are very spacious, clean and most have a pool view. Food was delicious and great value for money. 5 minute walk to Lidl and the spar and 15 minutes (left on roundabout) to the front.

It's an OK place to stay. The beds are massively uncomfortable and are in desperate need of replacing. The sheets and blankets do not keep you warm at night. Also, the plug sockets like to fall out of the wall. They kicked us out at 10:00am. Even though our flight wasn't till 19:00. The annoying thing was they didn't start cleaning the room until 14:30 (we could see while we were waiting at the pool) So it wouldn't have hurt to let us stay in there until about 14:00. Kathy's Pool Bar is fantastic, and they are really wonderful people. Kathy is the only reason I would stay again.
