Nice big hotel, great for families. For us, breakfast was a bit too hectic with so many people, though the selection was great. The room was super spacious but the furniture was a bit old and the walls were quite thin. Overall we had a good stay.

Dislikes:
- No usable wifi signal in our room but also no mobile phone data network. When I told the reception, they said they will tell the technician to try to fix it and if not fixed by the afternoon, to tell them again so they can put a wifi booster in our room. By the time we came back to the hotel, the issue was not fixed. As we only stayed 2 full days and as we went out for most of the 2nd day too, I couldn't be bothered to tell them again.
- We were there in February the temperature in the rooms was 19C at night. Felt cold but there was no heating facilities in the rooms. There was a big old loud, I guess, airconditioner in the living room which I turned on for 5 minutes. But it was only a loud fan noise with no cold, hot or any kind of air coming out of it and with no control buttons on it.
- Our two bedroom suite did not have a cosy feel to it at all, in fact quite the opposite. The floors were all tiles, the sofas not very comfortable. The suite had an old and outdated feel to it. Unexpectedly, there was a kitchen, sink, full size fridge/freezer, hob and complete kitchen units but with empty cupboards and drawers and with no utensils at all.
- No enough mains electricity sockets, especially where needed for example by main room's bedsides or next to the sofas.
- The tap water doesn't tastes great, which was confirmed by the reception too who also said it is not dangerous but tastes bad to drink and advised to buy water from the shops. This apparently applies to the tap water supply of the area or the whole island.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at Las Águilas. The hotel has a nice atmosphere, and the staff are friendly and professional. The room was comfortable, though a bit dated, and lacked some expected amenities for a four-star hotel (no coffee or tea machine, no cups or cutlery, and only one hand towel provided for two people). The TV remotes were also a bit complicated to operate. We had requested a double bed but were given twin beds instead. The breakfast was decent, but unfortunately, there was no fresh fruit juice, the orange juice tasted quite artificial. On the positive side, the parking was very convenient and easy to access.

Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing in several aspects.
The booking clearly stated complimentary minibar; however, there was no minibar at all in the room, and we did not even receive bottled water. Because of this, we did not buy water before arrival, which turned out to be a mistake. After check-in, the receptionist (who was otherwise kind) told us to ask on the next day Daniel about it. Honestly, guests should not have to chase or ask repeatedly for something that was promised, especially while on vacation. This should have been handled by reception.
On our last day, we had to leave at 4:00 a.m., so we could not have breakfast. We asked someone at reception whether the breakfast (we had breakfast and dinner included) could be exchanged for lunch on another day, but the answer was no. As a result, one meal was simply lost, which felt very inflexible.
The sound insulation is very poor. We stayed in room 324 and could clearly hear intimate activity and loud noises from the room (probably) above, which was uncomfortable and disturbing. As we had to wake at 3AM, couldn’t sleep and had to travel without almost any sleep.
The food was average. Pancakes were good.
Some room details were poorly designed:
• The toilet paper holder is about 80 cm away from the toilet
• The soap dispenser is about 1 meter away from the sink
• The TV itself is good, but there is a mirror directly opposite it, so the reflection is constantly visible on the screen
There are only two disabled parking spaces, which seems insufficient.
On the terrace, smoking is allowed on some tables and when the wind blows, the smoke goes directly toward guests while they are eating. I mentioned this to a waitress, and the only solution offered was that I could move to another table, which is not acceptable.
On a positive note, the cleaning staff were excellent, and some of the waiters were also very professional — especially Jesus, who was polite, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Also, the view is amazing and the pool too.
As a final note, in the restaurant, premium suite guests were seated separately and staff regularly went to their tables to chat and ask if everything was okay. During our entire stay, no one did the same with us.
Overall, the hotel did not meet expectations, and several of these issues could be easily improved with better management and a more guest-oriented approach.

The hotel is situated on top of a dormant volcano only access is via very steep winding road. The free shuttle bus service is essential if you don't have a car. The grounds and views are stunning. The staff are very friendly and offer waiter service in both pool bar and volcano bar. As part of all inclusive you have Jim Beam, Smirnoff and local branded spirits. The rooms are very spacious, a little dated but clean and tidy. We had a mountain view room, the balcony had an amazing view including the tip of Tiede. The only disappointment was the food. Breakfast is always very hectic but a good selection with fresh omelette, fried eggs and pancakes. Lunch is very limited as it appears only a handful of guests go down for lunch. Evenings have slightly more choice, oddly, often the only potato option was chips. But there is a great selection of cold meats and cheeses. Unfortunately at all three meal times the food is rarely that hot, quite often cold if you get in within 5 minutes of opening. The hotel is definitely 4 star but sadly the food is not and is at best 3 star.
