My recent 10-day stay at the Kenzi Europa Hotel in Agadir was a mixed experience. While there were many aspects I thoroughly enjoyed, there were also some significant issues that would prevent me from returning.
The rooms are a definite highlight. They are a good size and impeccably clean, and the bathrooms are excellent with powerful showers – a welcome feature after a day in the sun. The food is another major plus. The selection is fantastic, and for those traveling with children or picky eaters, the availability of pizza, pasta, chicken nuggets, and chips is a real lifesaver.
The atmosphere at the hotel is non-stop, loud, and incredibly lively. The entertainment team runs a party from 9:30 am until 11:00 pm. This hotel is not the place for you if you're seeking a quiet, relaxing holiday away from screaming children. The staff, with the exception of the reception team who were notably unsmiling, are an absolute credit to the hotel. The animation team, pool boys, and bar staff are all incredibly friendly and welcoming, which really adds to the vibrant atmosphere.
However, the hotel facilities are simply too small for the number of guests it accommodates. The pool area is crammed with sunbeds, which also spill out into the beautifully manicured terraced gardens, making them look untidy. Getting a sunbed is a challenge; all beds are covered with towels by 8:00 am, and I was told that some guests were getting up as early as 6:00 am to secure a spot around the pool. The lack of space also extends to the bar area in the evenings, which is far too small to cater to the number of guests. This, combined with insufficient staff, leads to frustratingly long queues for drinks.
During our stay, temperatures reached 34°C, but the room air-conditioning was not functioning. A complaint at reception was met with an unhelpful shrug. Furthermore, there are no courtesy rooms available for guests with late departures. With our coach leaving at 7:30 pm and a 12:00 pm check-out, we wanted a shower before our journey. The option to extend our room until 5:00 pm was available for £50, which felt excessive at £10 per hour.
Finally, a word of advice for future travelers: bring DEET or citronella wristbands. Morocco is infested with flies, and wasps will relentlessly chase you if you're holding a sugary drink.
Overall, while I enjoyed the friendly staff and lively environment, the issues with overcrowding, lack of amenities, and poor customer service at reception mean I wouldn't return. This hotel is for a specific type of holidaymaker, and it falls short on some basic logistical fronts.

Just back from this hotel, we had 7 days holiday there. Very good location, lovely rooms, the pool is too small for the amount of people saying there , and the bar is the same very small and usually just one person serving so you stand in queue waiting. The food was nice but have had better in other holiday hotels

During my stay here, I was overall surprised at the amazing experience I had at this hotel. I'm an avid traveller, so hotels are a constant when I'm abroad. But this hotel moved my standards, the staff and service was excellent, the food and rooms were just incredible. I hadn't a single bad remark to make. I will be definitely be coming again literally in 2 week [I've already re-booked]. Hope to see everyone soon . I would recommend this hotel, I met everyone on the staff and they all were extraordinary, I was so happy as to why I’ve re-booked to take my wife. A special shoutout to the receptionist Hassan and the manager Abdesslam, whom I have great respect for. Incredibly friendly and welcoming. ( a review on behalf of my husband)

I very rarely leave negative reviews for hotels but this particular one was exceptionally bad. Quite frankly, it's the most disgusting service I have ever come across in a hotel. The staff are incredibly rude and completely u bothered. The very reasonable requests made (in advance and agreed upon) through booking.com . 1. Upon check in to our 2 rooms, there's no interconnected rooms for my young children - told to come at 9am on the off chance it's available. How do you not know what room is available the following day? 2. Paid for 2 pool view rooms on booking.com and the arrogant member of staff told me there's none available and did absolutely nothing about it. 3. The pools are not heated at all, they are also disgustingly dirty so we did not venture into them again after the first day. 4. I had requested an iron on the first day, told to ask housekeeping who will bring it, came again the next day and the next and told the same thing then on the fourth day I was given attitude stating that they aren't obligated to provide one even if its available. Honestly at this point, I'm just reeling from the lack of basic etiquette from the reception girl Hajar, and her manager! 5. The breakfast was inedible. Very bad. The restaurant staff are no better than those at reception, ask them for anything and you will get a blank face and tell you to go elsewhere. Nothing was ever topped up, if they ran out of milk or bread, tough! I could go on and on but honestly its just dire, never ever again. Would not recommend. The room itself was decent however the AC didn't work properly and no minibar, and the view left little to be desired (pictured). The mattresses were not comfortable either. Agadir has much better hotels, I'd book elsewhere.
