I spent with my son and some friends almost 2 weeks there during summer holiday.Hotel is great located in center of Almunecar town. Window view was stunning. Rooms are big with good cleaning service.However the food was disappointing.Talented chief is required badly there.Food variety was ok but taste unacceptable.No flavor. I love soups but I was not able to eat even once as they tasted bad.Spain is famous from so many fresh ingredients so preparing great soup is not an issues.Also pool area is need of renovation as some ceramic pieces were falling down. Big plus of the Ibersol hotel was supermarket and many restaurants,coffee shops and coastal boulevard very close on walking distance. Hotel reception very reliable,staff speaking and understanding well in English.

Lovely hotel and staff ! The food is great , fresh and healthy ! Location is perfect , close to all you need , front beach !
Staff don’t expect tips , and are very nice ! We also had a lovely view through the castle and see ! Level 6 !

Based on my personal experience during my stay...
If you’re looking for a peaceful, quiet, and quality holiday experience, I suggest considering other hotels in the area. there are definitely better alternatives.
This hotel is very large and seems to be designed primarily for large tour groups, often arriving by bus and checking in as a crowd. It caters well to bulk tourism, especially through operators like TUI etc.
If you happen to make a reservation by mistake and miss the free cancellation deadline, there is absolutely no flexibility. No matter how early or reasonably you ask. I tried several times, even during check-in. The answer was always the same.
The reception staff were kind, helpful, and always smiling. I truly appreciate their friendly and solution-oriented attitude. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the hotel management.

Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel Almuñécar, the hotel was very clean and my room was very comfortable. The staff on the reception were excellent and very helpful. The beach is across the road from the hotel with lots of restaurants and bars nearby. The hotel has a secure underground car park which meant parking was easy.

The beach was clean, spacious, and sunbeds were available.
Check-in & Reception:
Friendly, multilingual staff who explained everything well. We also got a helpful info sheet with buffet times and other offers.
Pool & Facilities:
Well-maintained pool area with a large pool, kids’ pools, sports courts, playgrounds, and a nice wellness area.
Service & Animation:
Staff were friendly and professional. The animation team was a real highlight – energetic, funny, and engaging. Daytime activities included aqua polo, aqua gym, aqua Zumba, archery, beer pong, and more. Evening shows at 10 PM were fun and interactive. For kids, there was a mini disco at 8:30 PM plus kids’ and teens’ clubs.
Cleanliness:
Very clean in rooms and public areas.
What Could Be Better:
Elevators are small and often crowded. The dining hall could get loud due to other guests, but this wasn’t the hotel’s fault.
Wi-Fi:
Some reviews mentioned extra cost, but it was free for us.
Conclusion:
Great hotel with perfect location, good food, friendly staff, and excellent animation. Highly recommended for families or anyone looking for a relaxed, all-inclusive stay.
