OK we probably wouldn't have chosen this hotel had we not been part of a large group - a little too much 'fun' for us oldies!
But... I cannot fault the place. It is huge, set in magnificent and beautifully maintained grounds. There are 2 enormous pools (we liked the quiet of the Zen pool). The food was superb, the buffet changing every day. The place is spotlessly clean and well maintained. The hygiene protocols that we could observe were top-notch. And the staff were all brilliant.

There are so many things I want to say about this place and none of them are remotely bad.
I have to start with the entertainment team as they are amazing. The attention they give to the guests is incredible and the level of care and work they give surpassed any experience I have had.
The hotel is clean, the food is incredible and changes daily. It feels safe and I don't want to leave. I will be back.

Our family of 5 had the most enjoyable and amazing stay at Iberostar Waves Club Palmeraie. The staff were attentive, helpful and couldn't do enough. A BIG shout out to Amina (manager) who was very warm, friendly, and an absolute star!! Another shout out to chef Amin who helped us with our dietary requirements and Younus who was always happy to help and attended to our every need. All the servers in the restaurant are hardworking, and are always happy to help.
The entertainment team are excellent here, a BIG THANK YOU to the Kappa team who are full of energy, smiles and ooze with enthusiasm!! Housekeeping are excellent and always welcomed you with a smile and did an excellent job at cleaning our rooms and keeping the hotel spotless. This is a beautiful resort with the most amazing , hardworking and beautiful people. I would highly recommend Iberostar waves and cant wait to return!! THANK YOU ALL FOR MAKING OUR STAY A MEMORABLE ONE!!! ❤️ 💙

We had an amazing stay at this resort. The food and drinks were plentiful, with lots of variety and great quality throughout. The staff were incredibly helpful, always positive, and genuinely entertaining—they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and keep the energy high. There were loads of activities available every day, which made the whole experience fun and engaging from start to finish. Highly recommend for a relaxing and lively holiday. Only 15 minute taxi to the city centre - we used the resort for our golf trip and would recommend for golfers.

Insect infested, never seen so many bees, wasps, flies and ants in my life.
Bees swarming anything with sugar in so your drinks and food will be covered in bees and flies.
Sit still for more than 30 seconds and the ants will be eating your feet.
Nowhere is aircon apart from your room.
The pool is massively undersized for the huge volume of people on this hotel complex along with the restaurant which simply cannot cope with demand and resembles feeding time at the zoo with some of the most disgusting manners and lack of self control I have ever witnessed, people shoving and pushing to get to food like they had not eaten for days. Avoid this place at all costs, it’s one star at best. Don’t let the pictures and reviews fool you.
You have been warned.
Update - this morning we went for breakfast and whilst eating our breakfast we noticed cockroaches in the restaurant. One of the waiters noticed a cockroach and quickly swept it into the kitchen area! This hotel has a serious infestation to which MANAGEMENT are ignoring as they are very aware of this.
If this is how front of house is, I can’t imagine how behind closed doors in the kitchens must be like.
