We had an amazing experience at Iberostar Waves Bouganville Playa! From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and always happy to help. The hotel itself is spotless, beautifully maintained, and has a relaxed yet sophisticated vibe that makes you feel right at home.
The location is perfect just a short walk to the beach and surrounded by shops, restaurants, and lovely coastal walks. The pool area is fantastic with plenty of loungers, and the entertainment team adds a great atmosphere without being over the top.
Our room was bright, modern, and cleaned daily to a very high standard. We had a gorgeous sea view, and the bed was super comfy …perfect for a proper holiday recharge.
Food was a real highlight! There was a wide variety at the buffet, with fresh, high-quality options at every meal. Lots of local specialties too, which was a great touch.
This hotel really impressed us with its combination of great service, ideal location, and excellent facilities. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be coming back!

We have just returned from a weeks stay and there were tears all round at check out. What an amazing holiday!!
This is a perfect hotel for young families. The staff work incredibly hard to make your stay special. They are all very friendly and very helpful regularly going out of their way to ensure that guests are comfortable and happy.
The hotel is beautiful and impeccably clean. You are spoiled for choice with food options. The children’s pools are heated and my kids absolutely loved the slides. The kids club is excellent and they also looked forward to the mini disco at night every day.
There are activities on throughout the day, face painting, games on the lawns etc.
There is a beach less than a 5 minute walk away. You’re about a 10-15 minute walk from the harbour. There are lots of other food choices, restaurants etc on your doorstep if you didn’t want to go all inclusive.
You are less than a mile from Siam Park which is a fantastic day out if you like water parks - would highly recommend.
I would also recommend Fanabe if you have young children. The promenade is excellent with trampolines, soft play, bouncy castles etc.
Gutted to be home but we will be back 100%.

The hotel is lovely, spacious and despite its size doesn't feel overcrowded.
We were all inclusive and the food was really good. Only slight negative was that it was hard to get served for drinks at times, especially lunch, which was only a problem for fruit juice for kids... Soft drinks / beer / wine were self serve.
The staff were all very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. We didn't use the kids club through the day but the evening kids disco was well organised and did the job (same thing night to night but most people won't go to it every evening). Entertainment staff worked hard and did a good job with pool games, exercise classes etc.
Pools were a good size and well maintained, and the main pool being heated was needed (April). Sunbeds tended to get taken up early but always managed to find some as some people went away in the afternoon etc.
The rooms are basic but comfortable if juat using them as a base to sleep and dress then get out for the day. Lack of storage space when using a room as a family room and the bathroom was small but had a nice shower. Beds were comfortable but the pillows weren't to my liking personally.
The lifts are busy at peak times having 4 together. We often got the stairs to a mid floor to avoid queuing at reception level to get to our room on the 9th floor. Sometimes the lift went up and down a few times before eventually going all the way up/down. Maybe it could be considered to keep a priority lift for 1 direction of travel during peak times?
Overall, would stay again, but potentially bed and breakfast to explore the local restaurants more.

Another Fantastic Stay – Our 4th time at Iberostar Waves Bouganville Playa! 🌴
We returned to Bouganville Playa at the beginning of April for the fourth time, and once again, it was absolutely amazing. This place keeps pulling us back – and for good reason!
From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch. The staff are consistently warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, making us feel like part of the Iberostar family. A huge shoutout to Alessandro – his energy, attentiveness, and charm truly elevated our stay. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect – grazie mille, Alessandro!
Now let’s talk about the food – wow. Every meal was a highlight. From beautifully presented buffets to the fresh, high-quality ingredients and creative dishes, we were spoiled for choice. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, everything was full of flavour and incredibly satisfying. The themed nights were a fun touch and showcased a great variety of cuisines.
The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated, with stunning sea views and a relaxing atmosphere. The pool areas are perfect for both lounging and enjoying a cocktail in the sun. You can really feel the care and effort that goes into keeping the entire property in excellent condition.
Each time we return, it feels like coming home – and this trip was no different. We’re already looking forward to visit number five!

This was our third stay and we again did really enjoy it.
Reasons why we will come back:
-the staff is really outstanding (esp. Lidia from reception, Nino from animation, Fran/Reinaldo/Allessandro from restaurant, Luzia from SPA, they all made us feel home).
-the food is just amazing.
-daily aktivity program is just perfect, not to much and more than enough.
-the hotel is quite hugh but you don‘t feel that in any of the outlets.
-very child friendly
But as always there are some small things which could be improved:
-staff from Guest Relation should wear some kind of a uniform and name/departement tag like all the other staff, so they would be recognised as such, than just wearing a suit.
-the room was totally fine but needs some small soft renovation (floor, bath, front door).
