We ended up in one of the older rooms and it was the only thing that let's the hotel down. No storage space, no air-con and very dated. However, they did supply us with a portable air-con unit and also offer to move us to another room, but because we were staying with friends we didn't want to change room. Everything else about this hotel is very good.
Food was really good and decent quality, really enjoyed it, compared to some 4 star buffets the food was better. They even made a plate of profiteroles especially for us after learning that one of our group really liked them.
Staff are the best we have ever met. Very friendly staff, will go out of their way for you.
Pool area is relatively small but suited us and wasn't overly busy. Bar right next to it for drinks etc.
Drinks on a night are courtesy of the bar on the ground floor, it's open to everyone but all inclusive guests get (certain) free drinks and 1/3 off the price of drinks that aren't included in the package. Drinks come in proper glasses!! Again, bar staff were brilliant.
The only thing I'd change if staying here again was the room we had, everything else was brilliant

I recently stayed at this hotel and honestly, I can’t say enough good things about it! From the moment we arrived, the place felt welcoming, spotless, and beautifully looked after. The staff are absolute stars – nothing was ever too much trouble, and they all had that genuine warmth that makes you feel right at home.
The highlight for me, though, was the entertainment. Claire, who runs the shows, is simply brilliant! She’s talented, full of energy, and has that special knack for getting everyone involved and making sure there’s something for all ages to enjoy. Every day felt fun, relaxed, and full of laughter – the kind of memories you take home with you.
A wonderful hotel, amazing people, and unforgettable evenings thanks to Claire. We’ll definitely be back!

We spent a week with kids there. Stuff was super friendly and kind. They even provided gluten-free options on top of the existing buffet.
The room was really nice and clean . Room cleaning was done every day.
The pool is decent good enough for the kids . Plenty of restaurants around.
There were two beaches just from walking distance , but taking a taxi is not expensive to beaches further way.

We recently spent 11 nights here, we arrived before check in, didnt have to wait too long and the staff had a room ready an hour or so early for us. They were so accommodating in changing our room when explained the metal sofa bed wouldn't be ideal for our 2 year old. The next room was perfect. Staff are fantastic, from reception, cleaners, entertainment, bar staff and waiters they're all excellent. We really enjoyed our stay.
I'm glad we didn't go all inclusive, as whilst the foods nice, it is repetitive and not a huge selection in comparison to other all inclusives, half board was perfect for us and they allow you to change your dinner to lunch so you dont waste it when you want to eat out.
We were aware rooms don't have air con, we did get a fan in each room, I can imagine most of the year this would be OK especially if you dont mind leaving the balcony door open for a breeze, but with young children this isn't an option, and this was an extremely hot period (40° plus).

I really love staying at the Santa Maria, The Hotel is very clean and tidy. The Staff from Receptionist to cleaners and Managers are always very helpful. The food is of a high standard with a good variety of choices. The Animation Team are very good and really get involved with making people enjoy their stay. Claire and Carlos are so good at what they do. I’m really looking forward to returning in January 2026
