Not sure what most of the recent reviewers expected - it's a 4 star, all inclusive that costs €550 for 2, for a week in offseason January. For that, it's exactly what we expected. Food - wasn't as bad as most make out and choice differed every night and we only felt one night was lacking. I will admit the food under the lamps was tepid but if turned up too much it'll dry out. Service from almost everyone I felt was good, drinks and cocktails were good. Rooms - didn't have any issue with ants and the room is perfect for a couple. I didn't like the beds however - hard mattress for side sleeper kept me up and restless. At checkout I asked if available - mattress toppers are available on request so make sure to ask on check in (not check out like me!). Pool area was windy but it's January.. Location - if anyone did any research of the hotel and island they'd see that the town of Costa Calma is just mainly hotels and is quiet. If you're after a vibrant town and nightlife with bustling restaurants then Corallejo in the north or Morro Jable in the south would be more suited. This for us was perfect though, quiet romantic getaway where we didn't feel need to leave the hotel. We had rented a car to get about the island to Golf, quad excursion, volcano hiking and beauty spot sight seeing.

Amazing hotel, reviews didn’t give the credit which it deserved. Amazing looking hotel looks better than the photos. Rooms are clean and look so aesthetic. Beautiful views. Amazing pool. Bars are unlimited with generous portions from 10am-11pm. Food is provided 7-10 1-3 and 7-9:30 different options every day which were really nice. Breakfast was the weakest meal but it was still good. Should offer more meat options as the sausages are my favourite pastry of breakfast and they were hotdog sausages. Everything was amazing. Staff were friendly and spoke to us as people rather than just them doing their job. We were the youngest couple there by far due to the season but made friends with older couples and staff. Overall an amazing hotel and sta and experience 10/10 i have already reccomended to family and friends. Couldn’t ask for more!!! (Also so many cute cats around the hotel)

😍 ALL GOOD 🤩 For the price this is a brilliant place. If your expecting 5* you need to increase your budget. The food is good, not a crazy amount of options like some hotels but more than enough options and if your not a big meat eater here is always a good mix of salad & veg. The drinks are probably the nicest we've had for sort of priced hotel, the red & wite wine is good, & the mojitos are good. The bed was very comfy, & the room was regularly cleaned. The hotel is slightly tired in some smaller areas, but not in the important areas, everything worked, was clean & well cooked food, so it did the job nicely. We just wanted a quiet chilled week in the sun with good food & drink, and that's exactly what we got. There is no evening entertainment, but that suited is. The island in general is fairly breezy / windy.. But the rooms have a balcony thats quite sheltered from the breeze if it's annoying you, so that's a nice option to have. There is a few small shops 2mons away with much bigger shops 15mins walk away. The beach is 15/20 min walk away. Plenty of free parking around the hotel & a small free car park across the road. The hotel seemed to be very wheelchair friendly with alot of ramps throughout the place. Yes there are areas the hotel could be better / higher standard, but nothing at all that would stop us coming back next winter for another dose of sunshine. We have been in all inclusive resorts / hotels in a fair few countrys and some easily double the cost of this one.. And we both said we would happily come back.

If you’re looking for a quiet and peaceful place to relax, this hotel is a great choice. It’s very calm, with no parties or loud activities, and most guests are older, so if you’re expecting entertainment and nightlife, this won’t be the right place for you. But if you value tranquility and want to spend your holiday in a relaxing atmosphere, you should definitely consider booking this hotel. The food is standard for Spanish hotels. Lunches and dinners were really good, although breakfasts could be improved. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-maintained. There were always free sunbeds available by the pool, which was a big plus. Overall, it’s a perfect spot for a peaceful holiday.

Not a 4 Star Hotel. Read the reviews carefully We have just returned from an 11 night stay at Taimar Hotel. I read the previous reviews and decided that the positive feedback outweighed the negative so I would take a chance. WHAT A MISTAKE! The Good! The hotel is clean and easy to get around The rooms match the photos and descriptions acutely The staff are friendly and work hard to make your holiday special It is quite and peaceful The Not So Good The hotel is in an extremely quiet resort and is isolated in an area with VERY few bars, restaurants or shops The all inclusive food is tailored towards European tastes and as well as being repetitive and was often tepid or even cold. Also once something ran out it was “finished “ so get to the front of the queue! The dining room is open to the elements which in summer months is probably great, but in the off season it is like a wind tunnel and despite the many heaters place around is cold. You WILL need to wear a coat! There is NO LOUNGE to sit in comfort in the evening, you either remain at your dining table or go back to your room There is NO ENTERTAINMENT OF ANY DESCRIPTION, don’t expect this to be an off season issue, it is all year round and given that the area also offers no bars or restaurants it is VERY QUIET after dinner and most people take a drink and go back to their rooms. There were very few English in the hotel, not a problem in its self but did mean that food was at times odd and not suited to English taste. The little ants people mentioned are everywhere in the rooms. They get everywhere and are a little annoying especially when you find them crawling on you while sleeping! Costa Calma is full of all inclusive hotels and as such does not have a lot going on as most visitors stay in the hotels they have paid for. The resort is tired and a little rundown, with some very dilapidated and even demolished buildings which spoil the experience entirely. The beach area is again a little uncared for with broken windbreaks and brollys in the sunbathing areas. There were free public toilets and a few small bars run by the council, few of the hotels had beds on the beach and there was little to no beach or water activities. We hired a car from Cicar from the main shopping centre, it was much better value than the one offered in the hotel. The shopping centre itself was again very tired and uncared for. We traveled all around the island and found several beautiful places to enjoy and explore. We also ate out for lunch most days ( not ideal on an all inclusive holiday but we needed a change from the dull, tasteless hotel food) We have visited most of the Canaries and Fuerteventura is our least favourite. The roads are brilliant to drive on but that does seem to be the only area where money is spent. We visited most places and each time we’re disappointed to find long abandoned and boarded up buildings which were covered in graffiti. Even when we arrived at local beaches or beauty spots the surrounding areas were not finished or were desolate and uncared for. The island as a whole was underwhelming and we definitely will not return. There are much better options on Lanzarote, Tenerife and Gran Caneria. Don’t imagine the reviews are being harsh. The ones I read before arriving were spot on accurate, I don’t believe that Jet2 have picked well with this hotel as it misses the mark by a long chalk and I think the 4 star rating only comes from the accessibility to people with mobility issues and not from the usual hotel offering like, food, entertainment, position or amenities. Overall a disappointing experience!!
