The lady at the breakfast buffet was amazing and she had service with a smile every day without fail. A real asset to the team. I have stayed at a number of premium 5-star hotels with over service and she easily belongs at those.
The parking is very expensive even for hotel guests. This should be free or less. Some of the breakfast items are of questionable quality. Don't touch the bacon or sausage unless you want an ultra-processed feast! Most staff are friendly and happy but some are grumpy.

3rd time to Puerto Banus and first time in this hotel and would never stay anywhere else now. Super clean hotel and room, very large and spacious room with plenty of wardrobe space. Bar staff are amazing and super friendly and fun. Lovely pool area and a great breakfast spread.

Luxury and generously spacious hotel room. My first time staying at a Barcelo hotel and it definitely won’t be my last! Really friendly service at reception received by Ignacio too. Generous welcome gift of water and sweets received at the hotel room too.
The only downsides is that all the toilets have a strange flush button where you have to twist it then press and hold to flush the toilet. It took me quite some time to figure this one out! The room also didn’t have any tissue boxes, all other hotels where I’ve stayed at have this. Lastly the room windows isn’t soundproof and as my room was facing the motorway I could hear traffic passing by all day, especially loud lorry’s very early in the morning. I believe soundproof windows should be installed to mitigate this since the hotel has been refurbished quite recently.
Aside from these I still absolutely loved the hotel lobby and hotel room luxurious modern design and generous extras and will definitely stay again.

I booked a room for 5 nights at Occidental Puerto Banús, traveling alone for the first time in the area. When I received my receipt, I noticed that the reservation was listed as being for 2 adults. Upon checking, I realized that the price difference between single and double occupancy was over $350 (likely due to breakfast fees).
I immediately called the hotel from Canada, just three minutes after making the reservation, to ask if it was possible to adjust this: either refund the difference, or offer an alternative such as a room upgrade, especially since my stay is for late June/early July and there’s plenty of time to accommodate such a simple request.
Unfortunately, the customer service was not receptive and offered no solution, which I found really disappointing.
This experience with customer service has dampened my enthusiasm and honestly put a damper on the experience before I’ve even arrived. I’m not usually the type to leave reviews, but if my experience can help other travelers be aware of this issue, I think it’s worth sharing.

We had an amazing stay at Occidental Puerto Banús from April 18th to 23rd. It was a really special trip for us—we got engaged and came with both our parents to celebrate. We’re all so happy with the experience and will cherish the memories for a long time. It meant a lot to us to be welcomed with a bottle of cava—it was a lovely touch that made the occasion feel even more special.
Our room was beautiful and spacious. It was a bit chilly at first (probably because it was a corner room), but the reception staff were great and quickly sorted it out by bringing us an electric heater—problem solved!
Breakfasts were fantastic, with so many delicious options—fresh omelets, fruit, salmon, Spanish cold cuts, and even guacamole. The location is also perfect—just a short walk to the marina in Puerto Banús or down to the beach.
We rented a car, so having access to the hotel parking was a big plus as well.
Thank you for such a memorable stay! In fact, we loved it so much that we’ve already booked our next trip with Occidental—this time in Ibiza in June. Can’t wait!
