The outside of the hotel is lovely with a nice presented garden.
The rooms, as other people said, are a bit old, but if you're on holiday, its fine enough because the beds are comfy and its clean enough.
I had no issues with the air con though I saw other people did.
It is a bit disappointing that there are no parasols for the loungers (and the loungers are a bit hard) but the pools are nice. And there are shaded areas.
The bar at night isn't very well stocked but I'm not a huge drinker so it wasn't an issue for me.
The guys at the pool bar are lovely and friendly with good service.
I liked that my room had a nice deep bath because I love to have a bath, I had good WiFi connection in my room so I could stream on netflix and amazon prime etc.
Lagos is a few euro away in an uber, and if you want to get anywhere in Luz its an easy enough walk, the beach is a few minutes walk away.
The breakfast is not very varied. But its fine. I would like there to be more fruit. The sausages are nice. And the potatoes are really lovely!
To be honest. I was worried to come because I saw the negative reviews. But if you're coming for your holiday, its pleasant enough. I would come again.
It was my first time in Portugal and I had a lovely time.

I booked this hotel for 2 weeks early June 25 but left after a week. Certainly not a 4star!
My Patio door didn't close at all, so nothing was secure, it took 3 days to mend. Also the safe was broken and couldn’t be used. No kettle or cups, no restaurant, only meagre breakfast available 8 - 9.30. No bar to congregate over a few cocktails, no minibar in room. Card slot was sellotaped to the wall, no kettle or cups. Socket next to the bed was broken so could not have a bedside lamp or charge phone.
No separate shower, only over bath. There was a refrigerator. The nearest supermarket was almost a mile away uphill for the walkers.
There was a pool bar but not well stocked for drinks. Burgers or chicken nuggets and chips on offer for food. No sun umbrellas around pool.
My taxi was coming at 4am, I was told there would be 24 hour reception to help with suitcase…no! No one on desk. There was a laminated note on the desk and keys for someone arriving in the night.
Apparently before Covid this was a popular well staffed hotel with a full restaurant, the owners put managers in after Covid and the hotel went downhill. Unfortunately the 4star rating is no longer valid and it should be regraded. The hotel was clean and the 3 pools and gardens were great. Sadly not for me.

I had an amazing stay at this beautiful hotel! The stunning views all around were breathtaking, with well-maintained gardens and majestic mountains in the backdrop. Just a few minutes from the beach, the location couldn't be more perfect. The hotel offers excellent amenities, including tennis courts and three swimming pools. The rooms are massive, equipped with a TV featuring numerous English channels, a dining table, a comfortable sofa, and plenty of power sockets.
The hotel’s location is ideal, with easy access to Lagos city—just a 10-minute bus ride for only €1.60 per person. I highly recommend this place! The breakfast was delicious every morning, and the staff were incredibly attentive and helpful. Plus, there are bars, restaurants, and supermarkets just minutes away from the hotel. Hiking trail you'll around too, I truly enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back!

Pictures do not do it justice. Spacious hotel X apartment. Lovely garden/pool area you walk through to get to your room. My hair dryer didn’t work nor did the heater/ac be aware. Smart tv in the room was great on the rainy day. Housekeeping every day. All receptionists are kind and helpful if you need a taxi or anything they will help. The complimentary breakfast holds a decent selection. Super close to nearby cafès and restaurants. Most close by sunset however there’s a delicious pizza place open till 11:30 ,, life saver. Beach is at the same place as the nearby restaurants. Also a mini outdoor Gym apparatus on route to the restaurants. 2 shops local. Nice quiet communal area Luz. I went in February so out of peak season, sun was still shining and was able to do outdoor activities like boat & jeep tours with no waiting around (i definitely recommend). 10/10 would stay again,, lovely locals.
