I booked an interior room as it was the last one available. In reviews and on the website it says it has a window that opens onto the light well. I think this under sells the room. My expectations were low. If you are on floor 3 to 7 (we stayed in 602) the ‘light well’ is actually a 3 sided u shape of the building and not fully enclosed so you actually get a fair amount of light and actually a sneaky glimpse of the port area and sea in the distance. So do not be out off by the interior label it has. It is very good value for money hence the 5 stars.

The hotel was clean and everything was new. We loved the little rooftop bar and enjoyed our breakfast there once. Internet was 10/10 & so was the smart TV. :) I would've loved if the hotel offered room service (the restaurant closes early on Sunday which is not convenient) and if there was a small gym. :) Would've preferred one big bed, instead of two single ones presented as one. Also, on our last day I noticed the blanket covers were torn in several places. Service was ok, although I am not extremely satisfied with the car rental company Tirma. We were not told that we are being charged for them to bring the car to our hotel. We had no issues picking it up ourselves to be honest. They have a good deal with a nearby parking lot and more affordable prices than regular customers. What really bugged me is that the signs at breakfast (explanation of the food) were all mismatched. Quite confusing. There is a supermarket, a pharmacy, some bars etc nearby. And the beach is right there, although we used to drive to the other side of the island for our beach activities, it's convenient for others.

The hotel is extremely well located at the far end of the beach, away from the less pleasant touristy parts of the strip. The rooftop bar had amazing views with great music, snacks and drinks, highly recommend watching the sunset here. The room was very clean, modern and very spacious. The welcome note on the TV was a lovely touch. The guy at the reception was super nice, he even called the restaurant to make a reservation for me. The whole experience was refreshing especially because I had a terrible stay in another hotel nearby and decided to move to aloe canteras last minute. It would have been the perfect stay but the AC stopped working at night and started blowing warm air, there is no phone in the room and calling reception through the app didn't work. There is no soundproofing and you can hear everything, the cleaning staff was super loud especially. It's impossible to sleep in. Overall I'd still recommend this hotel as it is very good value for your money and if I come back to Gran Canaria, I'd probably stay here again!

This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in and will never stay here again or recommend to anyone. Myself and my sisters stayed here a few weeks ago and couldn’t wait to leave. On the first day of our arrival, we went out and came back to the hotel to find our bedroom door wide open, prior to that the door kept opening by itself. We told the hotel staff that we do not feel safe and would like to change rooms because we have our belongings and don’t want to leave if the bedroom door keeps opening. They were so unhelpful and didn’t care, the receptionist said he will try & sort this out and thinks it’s a maintenance problem. I had to go back downstairs to find out what was happening as he didn’t get back to me, he said maintenance can fix the bedroom door tomorrow and that’s where we will have to stay. He didn’t care at all! I had to be persistent and tell him we are not from here and have travelled a lot and never experienced this awful service. He basically didn’t care that we had dinner booked and didn’t want to leave our belongings, saying we can keep things in a safe, unbelievable. After fighting for a room till a new room was found, the receptionist decided to let us stay in the top floor room for one night but seemed so unhappy that he had to do this. His face and attitude was beyond me. I had to let him know we are not staying at this hotel for free and that we have paid so shouldn’t have to fight to have our items kept safe! You then had a trainee student giving me and my sisters dirty looks, laughing at us and speaking in her language. I wouldn’t advise anyone to stay here nor would I advise any coloured person to stay at this hotel! We felt so uncomfortable and felt slight racism. The receptionist defended the trainee student by saying she is a new student. I replied with, she needs to learn manners and the correct customer service. The breakfast is absolutely DISGUSTING! The chef doesn’t smile at all and seems so unfriendly. The food was horrible. The bacon was pink and soggy and the food was all cold. I don’t know if the people staying had never seen black people, but that’s all you get when staying at this hotel, STARING! no good morning or hello or a smile, they just look like we are monkeys on show. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I know there’s a lot more that happened but I’m just so shocked at the treatment received, that I’m traumatised. THEY ALSO MOVED US 3 TIMES!!!! All because they didn’t want us staying on the top floor because thats where the nicer rooms are. We ended up losing things because we moved so many times which disturbed our holiday massively! & for the manager who spoke to us at the end of our stay, there’s no point in asking what was wrong with our stay if you was never going to make up for it. Please, everyone, do not stay here unless you look like these people and enjoy crap breakfast with rude staff and trainees. I will post a review of this hotel on every single booking site there is. This hotel needs a revamp and some new staff. The bathroom still had hairs in the shower and the room was tiny for 3 people! We paid for room with view but got the corner and when told them about this, they didn’t want to change our room. They clearly just didn’t like the look of us. We travel so much and received so much love in other places. These people are disgusting and miserable!!
