Me and my partner stayed here for 4 days in total. I can’t fault the staff they were absolutely brilliant , they was always really helpful and attentive. The buffet selection was nice considering it is a smaller hotel. My only negative about the hotel was that you had to pay for a drink with dinner, (we was half board) as they are not included. Apart from that it was a very pleasant stay with modern and clean rooms as well as a nice sized pool (considering hotel size) and amenities.

Overall we loved our stay at HM Tropical, But there were a few negatives that warrant a 1-star reduction. First the positives, we booked the ocean view, half-inclusive (breakfast and dinner - dinner drinks, even water, cost extra, breakfast drinks are included). The view was nice and the meals were not bad for buffet meals. Loved that breakfast went until 10:30 so we could sleep in a little if we wanted, and the selection and quality of dinner was acceptable and it was so nice not having to find a place for dinner. After spending 3 weeks in other parts of Spain we found all restaurants to be on the slow side and very hit or miss on the food quality, so having a fast dinner option with decent food was nice after going on an excursion.
The only excursion we did through the hotel was bike rental and overall that was a good experience. We biked to the cathedral and to a round castle on a hill that had great views of Palma, would recommend visiting both.
Our number one complaint was the elevators, they are very small, slow, and there were often several people waiting, so we often chose to climb the 5 flights of stairs rather than wait and try to crowd into the elevator. The room was definitely on the small side and really needed a dresser so you could unpack and get comfortable, if I'm staying more than 1 night I don't like living out of my suitcase. The balcony light comes on automatically and can't be turned off, and stays on until sometime in the morning, it felt bright and the curtains were not quite blackout, it would be nice if they let less light in. I felt like it was a good price and would stay here again. Sunset from the sky bar was also very pleasant.

Very disappointed with the experience at HM Tropical Hotel. I asked to arrange a late checkout upon arrival and was told to come back the day before departure. When I returned the evening before departure, they said I had to come back again in the morning at 9am — which defeats the entire point of a late checkout, as I had to wake up early anyway. Staff showed no flexibility or understanding.
And as a kicker I was explained that this is the norm in hotels.
But when I got up early enough I could get 3 hours later checkout, but not the rest.
To make things worse, the hot water didn’t work for the entire stay. No apology, no resolution, and no compensation offered.
The Hotel WIFI fulfills only standards from 15 years ago (3-4 Mbit) and requires you to fill out a huge form (think Mortgage application) to get really poor quality.
The breakfast was OK, rooms somewhat clean, average tourist hotel some may say but unfortunately not to recommend.
Not what you'd expect from a hotel of this category and premium price of almost 300 EUR/night.

When you arrive at the hotel, you are warmly welcomed. The building has a modern appearance and is very clean. There’s always a fresh scent in the air, giving the place a pleasant and refreshing atmosphere.
The lobby offers a relaxed seating area with plenty of available spots. The hotel isn’t too large, which makes the service feel personal very quickly.
The facilities at the hotel are excellent. There is a gym on the lower floor, equipped with Technogym machines which is top quality. Everything you need for a good workout is available. There’s air conditioning, so even on warm days it’s comfortable to exercise.
The swimming pool is large enough and very clean, and the same goes for the terrace. In fact, the entire hotel is constantly kept clean, which is a big plus. If you want to get a sunbed, you’ll need to reserve one early with a towel by around 7:30–8:00 AM. After that, you may need to wait until the afternoon. There are also luxurious Bali beds available (see video), which can be rented for €40 per day.
The location of the hotel is excellent. Everything you need is nearby: there’s a supermarket right across the street, and a bus stop in front of the hotel. From the pool area, you can walk straight onto the beach. There’s also greenery around the pool area, which is rare for hotels along the strip.
You won’t be disturbed by drunken tourists those tend to be further down the road towards Arenal. From what I’ve seen of the other HM hotels on the strip, Tropical is the one to choose if you’re not into partying and would rather avoid running into drunk people in the evenings.
The main restaurant is a real highlight of this hotel. The themed dinner nights such as Mexican, Japanese, or Italian are excellent, especially for the price you pay.
Thank you to Carlos, the waitresses, and the chefs for your great service. A special thanks to my amigo Ali for the delicious eggs.
The rooms aren’t very spacious, but they’re big enough for a couple. Ours was cleaned properly every day. The water pressure in the shower is good, and the balcony is perfectly fine. Next time, I would book a front-facing room with sea view our side view barely showed the sea and mostly looked out over the street.
The rooftop terrace is also beautiful, offering stunning views over the bay. For a rooftop bar, the cocktails are reasonably priced and taste great.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for its location, the staff in the main restaurant, the pool area, and the easy access to the beach.
I had one minor issue during my stay, but the hotel manager resolved it quickly and professionally.

Just Find Somewhere Else - This hotel has some of the worst front desk service and business ethics I have ever seen.
My inbound flight was delayed and the hotel canceled my reservation with no warning, even after sending them a message alerting them of the delay.
My prepaid room wasn’t refunded and as stated earlier my entire stay was canceled, then promptly resold to someone else prior to my arrival.
With the hotel fully booked the response from the front desk was simply “you’ll just have to find somewhere else” so I’m giving that advice to anyone considering staying here, “Go find somewhere else”
