This is not a 4 star hotel. I’m not even done my stay and this place makes me want to go home. I’ll start with the positives: the one good thing about being high up above the town of Hersonissos, is the incredible view you get from the main building and pool. The sunrises and sunsets have been beautiful and something you don’t get being down below in town. The grounds are well kept and the main desk receptionist was very nice and accommodating. The all inclusive drinks and food may save you money, but don’t get too ahead with that.. On to the negatives which I’ll list! No pool/beach towels provided, you need to use your bathroom towels which are only changed every two days. The safety box lock is an extra fee. The AC in the room is hit or miss with working. Our phone in the room, no dial tone. Dirty floors in the room. Old furniture in which the mattresses don’t even fit the bed. Thin, cheap bedding. Tiny bathrooms with outdated faucets. The toilet paper was basically one ply sand paper. Finicky door handle. Dark lighting. Basically it felt like we were staying in a shabby budget lodge/cabin. Bottled water is $$. Staff is not always the friendliest. Finally, the food is terrible. Not sure how people reviewing this hotel are praising the food. It was bland, basic, and lacked variety. Do yourself a favour and eat out either by the walkable beach or in town, it’s worth the money despite the dinner inclusion. I’m so disappointed in this ‘4 star resort’. Nothing about it feels like a resort and on the last leg of our trip in Greece, this was such a bummer to end it here.

Everything in accordance with the description of the hotel offer. The hotel is clean, the food delicious and varied. Hotel staff helpful and competent. The view from the hotel is wonderful, the beach is within walking distance. I recommend it! Thanks for having us ❤️

We planned on going to Crete so we booked this specific hotel as it was one of the cheaper ones around with the All Inclusive package. Location: The hotel is located in the town "Chersonissos" which is about a 20 minute drive away from Heraklion Airport. We decided to book a hotel transfer by Bus, which took us a little longer as the Bus would naturally take on a few more passengers going to different hotels. So keep that in mind, if you book the hotel you definitely have to think about a means of transportation to get you there. Once there the location was breathtaking. The reception and the first bungalows with the hotel rooms are overlooking a huge amount of the sea and the mountains of crete. It is about a 5 minute walk to the next beach and a 10 minute walk to the nearest supermarket "LIDL" whis is definitely worth it as it is cheapest compared to the tourist markets. Rooms: Our room was fitted with A/C which is definitely needed if youre going during the summer time. Rather small room. One 2 person bed and one single bed, only one press for everyopne to put their stuff in. Bathroom's equipped with a shower/bathtub combo. Room was all in all a very rustique old looking interior. Service: All inclusive secured us breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner all with "free drinks". All food that was served was buffet style. Food was alright, they tried serving different foods throughout the stay but the breakfast beans or the fries were always served during lunch or dinner. For All inclusive we did not expect a la carte food so it was alrigth, keep in mind that you will not be served any high value food. Drinks are like McDonalds drinks. All coming out of a drink machine mixed with syrup and water. Alcohol was probably the cheapest alcohol around. The beer was alright the wines came in three different varients (white, red and rose) and the local liqour (Raki, Ouzo and brandy) looked like they were home brewed. All in all if you want to book All inclusive just keep in mind you will be fed but you won't be feed very well. Same goes for drinks. It was a rather pleasant experience all in all. For lazy people or people just wantind to do nothing for their time of stay this hotel is nice. For people that want to experience crete and not only lay at the pool all day, I would not recommend it.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hersonissos Village hotel. The view is really breathtaking, the staff - incredibly friendly and helpful (special thanks to the maitre d'hotel who was really amazing), the food was OK, I also can't complain about the rooms, considering the very reasonable price. What could be improved is the quality of drinks, especially coffee. But I was promised that it will happen!

The hotel is on top of steep hill, local town is about 15 mins away. Taxi from town centre to hotel is around 10 euro. Other reviews have mentioned that the hotel is predominantly German, which is true. The demographic of the hotel is mostly German speaking along with some Italian, French and English speaking. Mostly older people as well with some families and couples. Food is decent, and it is a good selection but nothing special. Typical hotel food of pastas, cold meats, etc Rooms are basic, but that's typical of these types of greek hotels. Balcony rooms are the best. Check out is at 11 am, but you can pay for later checkout and leave at 5pm, costs 30 euro. Beds are pretty comfy. Area is good if you plan on relying on the hotel for your whole holiday. Good views all round. There is a shop in the hotel, good prices compared to other shops with everything you need. Service is very good, staff are very hard working and a credit to the hotel, always attentive to your needs. There is a hotel photographer that will take pictures for you and print them the next day, costs 5 euro for a picture. A doctor comes to the hotel on certain days at 1pm. Drinks are under 10 euros with some beers and cocktails around 4 euros. There are two large pools and a small kids pool, lots of loungers. Seating area next to snack bar and main bar, lots of seating. Overall, Hereonissos Village Hotel is a pretty good hotel. Good for adults and okay for kids.
