I stayed 7 nights for work and had a great experience overall. The location is a huge highlight, it’s easy to get to/from the airport, and the property is basically a small resort “village” with lots of onsite shopping and restaurants, so everything you need is right there.
I stayed in the Rainbow Tower and loved it. My room felt recently remodeled, had plenty of space, and the view was fantastic, I could see the water and the luau. I also appreciated the smart little touches (like extra hanging hooks around the mirror), which made it easy to stay organized during a longer stay.
Check-in was a bit hectic with a big wave of guests arriving at the same time from flights, but it still ran fairly smoothly and the staff were consistently kind and friendly.
Food and drink options were solid, ranging from waterfront casual to more upscale. I definitely recommend stopping by the nicer spot in the Rainbow Tower for a drink, they made a delicious cocktail. Also: two Starbucks onsite is a win. I didn’t make it to the gym since it’s in a different building, but there’s a wonderful running path right outside the resort, which was perfect.
If you’re Hilton Diamond, the resort credits were a nice bonus and helped offset costs.
Only real downside: the shower. The shower itself is actually great (perfect size, nice features like a lower bar that’s super helpful for shaving, space for toiletries, and you can easily reach your towels), but the hot water took a while to kick in, especially once the resort got busier toward the weekend.
I’d absolutely stay here again, especially for the location and the Rainbow Tower experience.

Our stay at the Hilton Hawaiian Village was nothing short of spectacular. If you are planning a trip to Honolulu, this is the place to be!
Unbeatable Views from the Rainbow Tower
We stayed in the iconic Rainbow Tower, and I cannot recommend it enough. Waking up to the panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and Diamond Head from our balcony was the highlight of every morning. The tower’s position right on the water makes you feel like you're floating above the sea. Plus, if you're there on a Friday night, you have a front-row seat to the resort’s famous fireworks show!
Beach & Pools
The location is perfection—the resort is literally steps from the beach. We loved being able to walk right out onto the sand or take a quick stroll to the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon.
The pool situation is also fantastic:
• The Super Pool: Massive, beachfront, and full of energy.
• Family Fun: Great waterslides for the kids (or the kids-at-heart).
• Adult Pool: For those looking for a bit of peace and quiet, the Kalia Adult Pool (for ages 18+) was a lifesaver. It provided a serene, sophisticated escape from the busier parts of the resort.
From the lush tropical grounds to the endless dining and shopping options within the "village," we never wanted to leave. We will definitely be back

We stayed 6 nights in the Rainbow tower - we were upgraded from the Tapa tower & it was amazing to wake right above the beach. The rooms have been very recently renovated & were immaculate & spacious. There was a large conference on whilst we were staying (7,000 delegates) which made line ups at peak times just too long so we used other coffee shops & restaurants outside the village instead. Check in at 11.30pm took 45mins. Prices are very high for everything particularly along the beach. Same items can often be purchased much cheaper in the shopping centres nearby. Wonderful stay, shout out to Mary-Lou who serviced our room. Thank you Hilton!

My family had the best time at Hilton Hawaiian Village. It was the perfect location and had nearby restaurants and shops. It was all so convenient. Our hotel room was newly renovated and had a beautiful view of the ocean and the city. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and can’t wait to be back! Shoutout to Chad B. at the front desk who made check-in a breeze. He was so patient and had such good vibes. Mahalo!

This was our first time to Hawaii. We enjoyed our trip overall mainly because of the tours we did but here are my observations of where we stayed. We were in the Kalia tower so we were set back the farthest from the beach so could not hear waves from our room just the very loud city directly next to us. So didn’t give us the tropical vibe we were hoping for. The hallway carpets were so filthy almost black in a lot of areas. Lots of the wallpaper peeling off the walls. Looked pretty rundown definitely in need of a facelift. Our room was clean but beds stiff. The lobby area is super cold AC blasting. There is plenty of restaurants and shops in walking distance, but they were so expensive and that’s saying a lot from somebody from California. We had better luck going a little bit offsite for better food and pricing. Was surprised that there was no security or any kind of gate anybody can just walk into the village area and into the pool area too. None of it is monitored or secured. The pools are not heated and always packed, so was not able to go in those much too cold. The adult pool ok but closes at 6. The lagoon was not very enticing, cold and of course have to pay to use anything. The beach was very nice though the sand is very clean and the water was nice and clear even though it’s very mushy when you first walk in so you have to be a little careful with that the fireworks were fun addition, but they were very short. Was surprised no lifeguard on the beach and that you have to pay a ridiculous amount of money to get beach chairs. There’s these pamphlets on your dresser that tell you that you’re able to get a bunch of free offers but when you go downstairs to claim them, there’s really nothing to it. We enjoyed our view from the room, even though below us was the entire parking lot but overall, the sunsets were pretty. I don’t know if I would recommend staying here and probably wouldn’t come again. Also, when you check in they automatically withdraw $950 from our account so if it’s a debit card like mine was be prepared to not get that back until you leave.
