Shining stars:
- Elizabeth was very friendly and spent time getting to know my family. Her activities were fun and engaging, and I really enjoyed her music choice.
- Edwin in la hacienda los girasoles was so kind, offered to take our family photo, and was very fast with his service!
- Freddy at Bistro was happy to get to know more about Canada which made me feel so happy and welcome.
- Luis our butler was always available and met with us everyday to make sure we were taken care of.
- Ricardo the sushi chef smiled through our whole dinner service and facilitated a wonderful sushi making class! He was my favourite employee from the entire experience.
Areas for improvement:
- the pool service at el beso was slow and often forgot my drink, brought the wrong one, or simply didn’t ask if I wanted anything even when I was trying to get his attention. I think having an extra server around the pool would improve the experience.
- the restaurants were all amazing but I was underwhelmed by the buffet. The quality of the food was not great and often had me question how long it had been sitting out. It also had less options than other resorts that I have been to. In addition to this the service was slow. Most of the days we went to the buffet we didn’t get served our drinks until we had already finished our meals. This was disappointing and probably my least favourite part of the stay.
- the music at el beso sucked. It was “lounge” remixes of popular songs which was not what I expected. I found myself wanting to go over to the other pools where they had fun music playing which is unfortunate considering we paid extra for the el beso experience.
- for me the butter service was not necessary. The butler himself was perfectly fine but I don’t think it was worth the extra money.
- I would have enjoyed more afternoon activities at the pool.
- lastly, the activity schedule was often wrong which made it very confusing and difficult to plan family activities in the evening.

Another amazing trip to OCT! The facilities are clean and well taken care of, the food is great whether at the buffet or any of the a la carte restaurants. A great selection of food that is cooked perfectly and has amazing flavour!
Take part in any of the many daily activities, Spanish lessons, guacamole making, mixology, beach volleyball, stretching and yoga on the beach, also activities specifically geared towards kids! Mask making, a teen lounge with bowling, pool, foosball.
Don't forget the nightly entertainment which will regularly being in talented acts performing fire dances, acrobatics, talent shows etc.
The staff is where this resort really shines. The staff and how they treat the guests is the entire reason we came back a second time and brought our children with us.
Special thank you to our Concierge Carlos, very attentive and goes the extra mile to ensure things are perfect! Sommelier Rafael, super energetic and positive! Ricardo at the beach and Ricardo at Ocean Burger, both amazing! The entire breakfast crew at the Privilege Lounge Jason, Jesus, Adolpho, Adan.. I know I am forgetting some. Also Erik our most amazing host at the Mexican and the Italian restaurants, May the Force be with you !
Again, an amazing experience. I would highly recommend booking the Privilege package so you don't miss out on any of the amazing services this resort has to offer!

I cannot recommend this hotel enough! The staff are so friendly, welcoming and attentive! Antonio at bill marina Pool area was always joking with us and bringing us drinks. Gustavo and Alejandro at pool bar are the hardest workers with the biggest smiles!
Eduardo and Henry at the chill out bar were extremely attentive and fast!
The rooms are so clean, and very modern! The entire hotel is so well maintained, clean and just lovely to be at. Huge shout out to Abel at the dive shop, we booked multiple excursions through him including snorkeling, a trip to Isla Mujeres, and a dive!

My husband and I recently had our babymoon at Ocean Coral & Turquesa. We booked a Privilege room and notified the hotel of my pregnancy in advance. We were happy to be put in a room on the main floor so I wouldn’t have to deal with stairs. The building with the Privilege rooms is fairly quiet, away from the evening DJ, but be aware there can be landscaping noise (leaf blowers) shortly after 8 am. The resort is constantly taking care of its grounds and beach and is very clean and tidy (despite the tendency of the raccoons and coatis to tip over garbage cans - quite entertaining)
Doing the Privilege package was well worth it and provided great value. Our butler, Luis, provided excellent service and checked in with us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed (including lots of water bottles provided daily), even booking our a la carte reservations for us in advance so we only had to eat at the buffet on our first night when we arrived later in the evening.
The Privilege section by the El Beso pool, while not facing the beach, was just steps away from the ocean for going for a dip. While the advertised Bali beds were usually taken quite early, we never had a problem getting loungers in the Privilege section, even if we didn’t get there until 10:30/11. We appreciated the towel and water service from Jose and Javier, and the attentive drinks service from Ricardo who took extra effort in making sure my drinks were non-alcoholic.
As for the food, we were most impressed with the Mexican restaurant, Girasoles (you are in Mexico, try the Mexican food!) Armando provided particularly cheerful and helpful service to us there. We also enjoyed the Brazilian steakhouse style dinner at Villa Marina and our server Antonio was great.
At the Lobby Bar, we appreciated Franky’s quick service, humour and bartending skill.
While we spent our week mostly relaxing, there are always activities going on if you’re keen to keep busy! We didn’t watch most of the evening shows but did really enjoy the Mexican show on the Friday night.
Being pregnant, it was nice that the resort is only 25 minutes from the Cancun airport and we took advantage of the resort’s free airport transfer service. We will definitely book at Ocean Coral & Turquesa again. Muchas gracias!

My family and I visited OCT at the end of November 2025. I went with my wife and my four children ages 11, nine, seven and four.
Even before arrival, the concierge Gabriel was a wealth of knowledge in answering all questions that I had. My son has some food issues, and Gabriel was the most accommodating concierge I’ve ever dealt with. He made sure that my family was taken care of at every meal at every restaurant and to make sure that my son had all the appropriate foods that he was able to eat. Every manager at every restaurant came to our table and checked to make sure that he was happy and made sure that we are taken care of for the next meal for the next day by sending over all his information. This was above and beyond.
Every year at whatever resort we go to in November, my family does family photos. We do two different sessions with different outfits that we get a variety of shots and, as anyone with kids knows, sometimes kids can be difficult. Rodrigo was the most patient photographer and took the time to show us each photo after he took it to make sure all the faces were exactly the way we wanted them, to make sure all of our shots turned out wonderful. I wanna make sure I send a special thank you to him. If you ever take photos at this resort, which I do recommend, make sure to ask for Rodrigo.
When selecting a resort, my family looks at a lot of things, but the entertainment staff and available things to do is always at the top of our list because of our four kids. At the activity pool daily the activity staff had tons of things to do including beach volleyball water polo, water, basketball, bingo, and they even had foam parties, which were awesome. I wanna say a special thanks to Jorge and Gabriel from the entertainment staff on taking care of my children.
This resort also had a very good kids club where daily they had activities every few hours where you could do arts and crafts, go to the pool, they would even take your kids to lunch. Berenice was awesome with every kid even getting in the pool for the foam party.
The shows were wonderful. During the Pirate show I was called on stage and had to dance which my kids thought was hilarious. They even had a talent show where my daughter got to show off her gymnastic skills. It “made her famous” as people kept telling her how awesome she was. There is something every night.
We had a wonderful time and our children asked when we can go back before we even left.
