I recently stayed at the Grande Real Santa Eulália Resort in Albufeira and had a fantastic experience. The resort is beautifully located right by the beach, offering stunning ocean views and direct access to the sand. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with all the amenities you’d expect from a high-end resort.
The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any requests. The resort features several pools, great for both families and adults looking for a quieter space. There are also plenty of dining options on-site.
It’s a perfect spot for a relaxing getaway, whether you’re traveling as a couple or with family. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy the Algarve in comfort and style.

Great place to stay with a family
Right on the ocean with a nice beach and places to explore. Buffet breakfast has a great variety of different foods. Can't beat the view from the restaurant and bar on site. The walk to "The Strip" is a bit far. Old Town Albufeira is a short taxi ride away.

1BR (460) apartment 9 nights B&B. Overall delighted and would return. Check in easy, room spacious for 2 adults 1 toddler. Shower powerful, lots of storage. Breakfast fantastic value, wide variety for everyone. Bit manic at times but to be expected. Atlantico restaurant good quality but pricier than other options near by, which we preferred such as RM, Portobello and BouganVilla, latter being great for children as play area colocated. Service 90% great, bar service a bit hit and miss but no major issues. Pool area was good, 'heated' pool better than fresh water and beach access was as good as you can get! Spa was really useful with proper heated pool. 3 things I would change:
- Softer matresses, ours was quite firm
- QR code ordering option for bars etc
- Mops in room for clearing rain form balcony
But absolutely a 5 star hotel, not a ritz but immaculate and the peacocks were a great surprise. Hope to return for longer soon

Manager & "Guest Experience Manager" lied.
We submitted a formal complaint after the spa was closed due to unforeseen circumstances. We understand things like this happen. They did not tell us the spa was closed until after we paid, that was the entire reason for our trip. We asked for a refund, they said no.
We asked for other compensation, suggesting maybe a free dinner or a bottle of wine as this ruined our holiday? The manager told us no. We asked for anything for any sort of compensation as we paid extra for spa access that was not available.
We spoke to two different managers, both said no, they wouldn't do anything. The Guest Experience Manager replied saying we were offered free in-room spa treatments, this is not true. We were not offered any money back, not even a bottle of wine or free access to the buffet dinner as compensation. Just horrible customer service.

Grande Real Santa Eulália Resort & Hotel Spa offers a fantastic location and a high level of comfort. Our room was spacious, clean, and provided plenty of space to relax. A highlight was the direct access to the beach – there's a private gate that opens with your room key, which was very convenient.
The breakfast buffet was fresh and of good quality, but after a few days, it became repetitive – more variety would be expected from a 5-star hotel. The coffee was also quite average.
Another point to note: the fitness room, according to the in-room tablet, costs €12 per use. For a hotel in this category, we believe gym access should be included.
The location is excellent: Santa Eulália is about a 10-minute walk, and Albufeira is roughly 4 km away, easily reachable on foot or by taxi.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay with good service, comfortable rooms, and a great setting. However, compared to other 5-star hotels we've stayed at, the overall experience lacked some of the special touches and inclusivity we’ve come to expect – hence our 4 out of 5 rating.
