An Incredible Stay at the Grand Hotel Excelsior!
From start to finish, my experience at the Grand Hotel Excelsior was nothing short of exceptional. The hotel itself is stunning, offering beautiful views of the harbour, elegant old world décor, and a range of top-notch amenities that made my stay truly memorable.
A special mention goes to Irina at reception. She welcomed me with a warm smile and made the check-in process seamless and efficient. Throughout my stay, she was incredibly helpful, providing excellent recommendations and always going above and beyond to ensure my comfort. Her professionalism and kindness truly set the tone for my visit.
Additionally, I want to thank Godwin, the hotel’s driver. He was not only friendly and courteous but also incredibly knowledgeable about the local area, making my transfers both pleasant and informative. His impeccable service added a personal touch to my trip, and I appreciated his promptness and attention to detail.
Overall, the Grand Hotel Excelsior offers a luxurious experience with outstanding service. I will definitely return and recommend it to anyone visiting Malta. Thank you to the entire team for making my stay so special!

Overall, I had a lovely stay at the Grand Hotel Excelsior. The service was excellent, staff were friendly and welcoming, and the views were stunning. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the location is ideal for exploring Valletta.
That said, there are a few areas where things could be improved. The pool area is quite small for a hotel of this size, and the queues for the lifts can get frustrating at peak times. Some parts of the hotel could benefit from better maintenance, and the breakfast options, while decent, felt a bit average and repetitive over a few days. Also worth noting: the massage and spa prices were extremely high – though that’s run by an external company.
Despite these things, I’d still recommend the hotel and would consider staying again. Just don’t go in expecting a full 5-star experience on all fronts.

A beautiful hotel very near Valletta. There is a car that can take you up most of the way (up to the pedestrianised section) and is free. The partial sea view was amazing and spending our late evenings on the balcony was a real highlight. So calm and peaceful. A little slice of heaven!
There are 2 pools, one indoor and one outdoor and a small beach section where you can swim in the sea.
There are servers on hand to get your drinks orders in as well as a snacks area and 2 restaurants outside.
We didn't dine inside but based on the rest of the hotel I'd say the quality would be excellent!
Breakfast is a little hectic in a morning, you have to ask a few times for coffee, but that shouldn't ruin the service provided in every other area.
I requested information about boat tours around Malta and these were emailed me to by the concierge a few days prior to us checking in.
We were early to check in and our room wasn't quite ready. This was no problem as we were given access to the pools and so we grabbed some things from our cases and spent time soaking up the sun as we waited.
The staff at the front desk were exemplary.
We loved our stay, the perfect end to our honeymoon/anniversary. Would definitely come again to this grand hotel. Thank you.

Wow what an amazing visit we had! I was blown away by the level of service and how nice it was everywhere. It was very charming and everyone working at the front desk and at the pool was so nice! Might be my favourite hotel experience ever.
The food was also excellent and everything was presentable priced!

Has 5 stars on the sign, but is in reality a good 4 star hotel. Hotel is just outside city centre with either a bit of a hike up some stairs, or a free shuttle bus every 20 minutes. It has a great reception area and the bar can make most drinks. Pool area is large with seaside access and great service for food and drinks. Rooms have seen better days, but still ok.
