Great hotel! Perfect for kids. Lot of pools with pretty good temperature of water. Restaurants Ala carte were delicious! Rooms are pretty simple but the ones with the pools are beautiful. Far away from city but there is bus (5 stop for 2.50€). 20-25 min from the airport which is good !

Myself, my wife and my daughter (4 years old) have just finished a seven night stay here and couldn’t recommend it enough!
The property is beautifully maintained, the food and drinks delicious and the service absolutely impeccable.
The pools are a bit on the cold side in early May (I’d suggest bringing a shorty wetsuit for little ones!) but they are incredibly clean, safe and above all loads of fun!
Ignore any negativity in the reviews - you’d have to be a proper miserable person not to enjoy a family holiday here.

Me and my family booked our holiday here for the easter holiday period. Despite the weather not being in our favour (absolutely not the hotels fault). We wanted to make the most of our stay. This however was difficult at this hotel.
Accommodation - photos dont represent how small the rooms feel, water in our shower was also luke warm. No options for TV other than news channels. We were also put in one of the furthest away rooms from the main hotel areas, with a very unpleasant view as we left our rooms (linked below) strange considering how empty the hotel was. Beds are very comfy and spacious however.
Food - below average compared to other all inclusive meals we have had. Food is very plain in general and a lot of it didn't have labels which would have helped navigating it. The pizza was very tasty though! Very well done with lots of options and is available throughout the day a big positive!
Drink -
If you like beer, there is a satisfactory option that you can pour yourself.
There is also options for cider and soft drinks.
Any other drinks are borderline unfit for consumption - cocktails were downright unpleasant and me and my partner could only stomach 1 sip. A similar situation with the apple juice - which the lovely bar lady had to dilute for him, save his teeth dissolving that instant.
Building works.
What was definitely a highlight in the worst way possible was the construction project occurring during our stay. Everywhere you looked - buzzsaws, workers, red tape. The main waterpark attraction of the hotel was actual closed during this period, and as you can guess - the hotel failed to mention that we would be better wearing hard hats instead of caps during our stay at their construction project and didnt infom us before our arrival this would be the case.
The worst of it occured when we attempted to nap during the afternoon of our first (and last) day, and the workers decided to start chopping wood with a power saw right outside our door. Needless to say the sound was insane, not really the vibe id expect at a ‘5-star’ hotel.
Staff
Staff that were not electrical or builders were very kind and accommodating, clearly empathetic to the weather situation, and trying to give the best service possible.
Attractions -
With our options at the hotel limited by the weather - we wanted to try out the arcade in the bar. Just as me and my son were finding some fun with the shooting arcade games, the electrician thought this would be a good time to shut down all electricity in the arcade, losing our game (4euros). There was no acknowledgement or apology or refund of my euros of course.

This was our first time in Crete and I am so glad we selected Gouves water park. The start of our holiday was three days of very bad rain ( our fault for going in april) but because of the location of the park, we were able to visit local shops, walk along the coast and visit the local attractions. The rest of the holiday was spent sunning it up with the gorgeous Greek heat.
The staff here vary depending on which type so I'll add one for each
Reception staff - absolutely fantastic! Brilliant linguists and very friendly!
Bar staff - This one is a 50/50, the main bar staff are quite non-talkative unless you're a woman.. thats fine but they show little to no interest in your unless you've a pair of breasts. But the hidden beauty of the bars is the Poseidon bar, located very conveniently next to the kids splash park. This is a serviced bar and is very small but the lady they've working there, its hard to sum up how good she is with people and especially kids! Our daily conversations were a big part of the holiday and she works around the clock, collecting glasses, serving, playing with the kids and reassuring they take confident steps to order drinks and have the confidence to be their own person. She's an absolute credit to this hotel!
Main restaurant staff- i can't comment on these guys much, the chefs are great and worked very hard, the waiters are very quiet but great with kids and I cant blame them for not speaking as this hotel is the busiest I have ever visited, with guests coming in from a lot of different countries. The languages are many.
Snack bar staff - Food warriors. Honestly, think of black friday meets gyros. It's that busy from open until close but these guys pump out snacks with consistency and great tastes. Special mention to Chef Pablo on the gyros stand, he's extremely calm for the speed of things and delivers some of the best gyros you'll try. And another bigger shout out to the man that runs the pizza corner. Wow! The pizza offered is of four types, a vegetable one, a plain tomato and cheese, one with ham and one garlic pizza. Honestly some of the best pizza I have had. It's like when you find a special place back home that does really good pizza and you know it could be a hit or a miss. Well this is like that but never a miss. The guy is dedicated because the amount of pizza this man has to make is unbelievable, the minute a plate is full, its gone. And they're all hand made and stuck in an old fashioned pizza oven. Credit where credits due!
The animation team - the whole team are like a kids dream of fun, they're bursting with energy, always happy and even entertain the adults at night. I especially enjoyed their music trivia night and the man who's name i didnt catch, who sung a very sneaky Italian song to entertain those who knew the meaning, bravo! What a voice aswell. Overall the whole team are extremely talented.
So, the overall park is great, theres something there for everyone's, food 9/10, snacks 10/10, water parks and slides 10/10. Great pools for non swimmers aswell.
If you're thinking of Gouves waterpark, honestly just give it a go. It may not be for everyone but it will likely be one of your favourites.
Little side notes: the only let down of this place was the actual guests. There is some very different characters there. Other cultures can appear rude sometimes and this was our experience. A lot of adults just snatching food or banging into the younger kids.
Also bring good footwear, very slippy sometimes.

Definitely not 5 stars hotel.
Rooms not cleaned every day, the cleaners just making beds and leaveing fresh towels.
Air conditioning very loud and from morning till late evening we could hear a noise of moving chairs constantly.
Hotel has more rooms that daily activities can fit so at the evening it's impossible to find a space to sit. Also you need to wait in lines to get anything.
Staff friendly and always smiling, 15 minutes walk to the beach and shops in town, very nice food, lots to chose.
Hotel also asking for a tourist tax, so we had to pay extra 105€ for 7 days.
