Our stay at Filion Suites Resort & Spa was nothing short of wonderful. If you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle and truly unwind, this is the place to be.
The Location & Ambiance:
Tucked away in the scenic Cretan hillsides near Bali, the resort is surrounded by beautiful olive groves and dramatic mountain views. It feels like a private, secluded oasis of pure nature. The tranquility here is unmatched; waking up to the sound of birds and looking out over the landscape from the restaurant was incredibly peaceful. It’s the perfect setting to recharge.
What truly elevates this resort, however, is the staff. The level of customer service here is exceptional. From the moment we arrived, everyone we encountered was genuinely warm, friendly, and attentive. They consistently went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed, always greeting us with a smile.
Going Above and Beyond:
A massive thank you to the management and reception team for being so incredibly accommodating on our final day. They graciously granted us a complimentary late check-out, which allowed us to enjoy one last relaxing morning by the pool without any of the usual departure rush. That kind of thoughtful flexibility is exactly what turns a good vacation into an unforgettable one.
We left feeling entirely refreshed and will definitely be recommending Filion Suites to friends and family!

The blood on our bed sheets was the stand out. But everything else didn’t fall far behind. To begin with, everything was filthy, I don’t understand how this hotel can have a five star rating. Our bed sheets were covered in mystery stains, including the very apparent blood stains, toilet was filthy, bugs all over the room, cleaners didn’t clean even once the week we were there just dropped new (also stained) towels in. Cups in the restaurant were not even wiped, food stayed out for days in the same place, stale bread and pink chicken. We had bad stomachs throughout our stay. Ended up paying to eat out but also for our own soft drinks from the shop as the all inclusive drinks are genuinely inedible. I don’t even know what that is! It’s like it’s some sort of soft drink syrup and soda water or something, we spoke to several people who also said the drinks were vile, genuinely like drinking acid. To pay for all inclusive and still opt for paying for your own food and drink separately speaks volumes I think. Also worth noting, if you get the option to book a transfer to the hotel, please note it won’t actually drop you at the hotel, instead at a hotel in the middle of nowhere where you’ll have to ring filion and hope they can come and get you. Same applies when you need to fly home, which of course no one tells you either. You’d assume paying for a hotel transfer would mean you’d be taken to and from your hotel but apparently not. Other than that the view is beautiful, and some of the staff are nice, but it was definitely still the worst place I’ve ever stayed and I wouldn’t book it again. Really disappointed.

We had an amazing time here at Filion the staff were so friendly and helpful and. Location was perfect for us. It’s great that there was a shuttle us to take you to and from the beach.
The room was clean and well kept.
Reception staff were brilliant!

Thank you for our stay at Filion Hotel. The location is wonderful, the swimming pool is beautiful, and the food was delicious.
But the most wonderful person was Mrs. Regina, who helped us change our room to one that was truly amazing. Her kindness and support made our stay even better.

Nice hotel, location is OK. If you can work out the bus times though you can get to and from Heraklion and Rethimno pretty well without having to do a tour just a 20 minute walk, but you need to be fit, steep roads. Food OK, but not that much variety each day. Desserts were amazing though. They need to give mixology classes to the bar staff as the cocktails weren't the best. It might be 5 star because of the services it offers but it isn't luxury.
