This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had, and I would never recommend this place to anyone, especially families with children or single women.
The staff were absolutely horrible and extremely aggressive. We experienced very sexist behaviour during our stay, including staff refusing to serve drinks to women. Complaints were completely ignored, and staff openly spoke badly about guests in Spanish, assuming nobody would understand them — unfortunately for them, we translated everything.
The hotel felt very unsafe. There was no proper security, and it seemed like anyone could walk into the hotel at any time. We were even scammed out of €30 during our stay. At one point, we felt threatened when someone tried to come into our room. The lifeguard was especially aggressive and intimidating towards women and handled complaints in a disgusting manner.
The room conditions were terrible. There were flies everywhere, including in the room and all over the food. We also found spiders in the room, rubbish outside our view, and even hair in the food. Hygiene standards were shocking.
The food itself was awful and repetitive — the same food was reused every day with barely any options for children. No proper kids’ meals were available, so our children were basically surviving on chips, chocolate, and plain sandwiches the entire holiday.
Entertainment was terrible for both adults and children. There was no music by the pool, no proper entertainment, and no Wi-Fi available. Even the TV in the room was not included unless you paid an extra £20. The ice cream area was ridiculously far away down what felt like “1000 steps.”
The drinks were also disgusting. The alcohol tasted watered down and honestly like hand sanitiser, and even the fizzy drinks tasted watered down.
The pool rules were ridiculous. Children were not even allowed to play with a ball in the pool because staff claimed it “splashed the sides.” It completely ruined any fun atmosphere for families.
Overall, this hotel made us feel uncomfortable, unsafe, and unwelcome for the entire stay. I genuinely hope this place is investigated because the standards, behaviour of staff, cleanliness, and safety are unacceptable.

Lovely hotel and staff and good facilities for people with a disability. We stayed here in October 2025 myself and 3 children aged 15/11/10 the pools were lovely bar at both pools, shop on site and happy dino and loads of places to eat and drink within a 2 minute walk. The beaches was what i think was the hardest to access so we used cabs there and back for around £5 euros each way. Good entertainment at night and see lots of lizards parrots and stray cats and kittens. The only main problem was the lack of wifi only in the main office

Overall we had a fun and relaxing stay at Colina Mar. The hotel is situated high up on the mountainside and offers a stellar, breathtaking view over the entire Puerto Rico city, the mountains and the ocean. The hotel complex is sort-of "outside" where you feel like you're walking up and down the cliffside, which is neat.
The hotel is fairly old fashioned, basic, but fine. The room had good amenities and a functioning kitchen. Nice balcony with city/ocean view. Bed was fine, although sorely needs blackout curtains. When the sun rises, it's as if a flood light is turned on. TV worked okay although sometimes reception was poor, no big deal.
There's a neat little supermarket on the hotel grounds, which is handy for basics, else I recommend going to the Europe Center 5 minutes away and shop at Hiper Dino.
I tried the breakfast once and it was pretty mediocre, didn't eat there since. My mother in law ate at their dinner restaurant once and reported it was awful. We had some decent sandwiches at the pool snack bar and very good smoothies for reasonable prices. Otherwise we went to eat instead.
The pool area was both good and bad. Many recliners, and many different areas (two pools) and smaller quiet platforms further down the hotel grounds for those who prefer peace and quiet. At the main hotel area, be warned that they play LOUD pop music all evening. They also often have a guy yelling every hour for people to come play water polo, billiards, darts or whatever, and they even had a runway fashion sale at some point with music and speak. If you hate that, simply move to the secondary pool area and it will be quiet.
We had some bouts of heavy rain where the rain came in under the main door to our room, which was a bit of a mess. We had to mop it up and use towels and sandals to get around without getting wet feet. The cleaning staff was helpful.
The location is great, just a few minutes walk from the Europe Center, and amazing view. A taxi will take you to the central big Center in the middle of town in 10 minutes for about 6-7 Euro.

Although the pool area around the small pool was pleasant and the views were nice there isn’t much else positive to say about this place. The all inclusive included no cocktails and the food choices were poor and the food not great. Our room also has an ant infestation which was sorted to a degree, however the next night water was leaking through the bathroom ceiling resulting in us being moved rooms at 22:30. All in all I wouldn’t recommend this place to stay although cheaper than most options it’s definitely not worth it.

Fantastic holiday, and a great hotel.
1st off, the view is incredible!
The staff are lovely, all really friendly.
Rooms are basic, but have everything you need, kept clean, and the beds are comfy.
I did worry about not having AC, but it was cool enough in the evenings, and comfortable to sleep.
Brilliant breakfast, lovely food, super clean and really friendly.
Nothing negative to say! All round brilliant holiday.
